I don't know how everyone missed doing this already, but I took one look at Nitro's toy and was honestly expecting him to be a rebuilt shockwave. I was wrong, so I made myself right: - Went for a more FoC paintjob. Let me use pink glow-in-the-dark paint to match up. - Energon panel lining everywhere. All glow in the dark. - Almost wanted to give him a yellow eye/chest glow like G1 Shockwave, but my yellow didn't show up well on a scrap test. - Left the plane almost entirely unpainted just because...I couldn't bring myself to paint a giant purple jet.
Maybe the jet mode could be painted black with red markings. That way, it doesn't stick out when it is in robot mode, and might as well since it is already 1/3 black anyway.
I like how the robot mode's colour scheme is so different to the jet's, it gives off an AOE Galvatron vibe.
That...Might actually work. A big problem was all the hinges in the jet weren't something I could easily handpaint purple, but doing them as black could possibly work. If it doesn't sell, I might repaint the jet mode as a Shockwave's FoC vehicle mode, but with black instead of purple. It's a mixture. Mostly Creatix Red & airbrush paints along wit Wicked Colors Detail White & Black to gray it out. I wanted it to be somewhat flat to make the glowing pink more vibrant. I also gave an uneven base coat of white to the parts before applying the glow in the dark, with it being more white towards the center of each part. It isn't noticeable in the dark, but it makes a bit of a difference while the lights are on.
Awesome. Great looking colors. I personally love the gray alt mode. Maybe color the canopy yellow or add purple Decepticon logos to bring some of the Shockwave colors to alt mode. But I love it.
It's a little amusing to see how everyone either really likes or completely dislikes the alt mode's lack of paint.
Looks pretty cool. I heard a lot of people talking about doing that when it came out but I want to wait til I get my hands on a DOTM shockie to paint
