Yikes...my message was cut off. Sorry. What I was going to say was I wonder why none of the other owner's of this thing has commented on it. It does not appear to be official - more of a third party. No collectors card - only something in Japanese which does not look like an official Takara release to me.

Takara takes pride in what they release and would damn well make sure everyone knew this was their doing. They haven't done that. Unfortunately, when something like this gets leaked and posted on ebay, some jump only to find out its not what they expected.

 

Well.. I have the normal release Megatron and all the consternation over broken barrels and other damage made it so that I personally am not transforming it either. So no difference for this version..

I know a few that did. And I know the guy that tried to peddle this to me too way back when. Glad I didn’t take the bait.

Don’t know if any of them are ‘real’ - as in an actual official TT lucky draw release. No announcement from TT, no box seen. And what was all that SGC stuff - the dog tags, weird cards?...

All seems a bit KOey. If anyone is paying 4 figures for these, hope they know something the rest of the fandom missed!

Ah cool. Out of interest how do you know? Hard to find out anything about these, at least in English. So there’s 200 of them?? Or those SGC card things with #199 and #200 are nothing to do with the figure? Like someone with a gold Megs happened to go along to this SGC thing, whatever that was, and wanted to take some pics of his Megs with his #199 and #200 cards? And some dog tags.

With the number of them floating around before the $200 ones started showing up I have a very hard time believing it was a staff Item.

 

I don’t see any believable facts that the first one was not KO either. Someone was selling 4 or 5 of them for exactly $3000 months ago. He tried to get me and all of my buddies to buy one in separate “Don’t tell anyone else about this” messages. And how’d he get them? He a staffer? His whole family got one each and gave them to him?

The whole thing stinks of a scam. If anyone bought these for that much money I am very sorry.

The guy who offered me one does sell legit prototypes but this thing seemed fishy from the get go, if it’s the the same guy and he sold 4-5 I know of another guy in china that’s sold 6+ and this was all before the cheap ones came out.

 

It's the same guy lol. Only one dude collects such a comical amount of prototypes hahaha. I hope he didn't purposefully scam people, and honestly I believe he did not. But, yes these did seem fishy.

 

Was this ever confirmed or debunked?

 

The guy that was selling/getting them deactivated his FB account. Seems even more fishy now I think.
