I have most of IF's figures and he is tied with Datsuns as my favorite. Alt-modes are IF's weak point, but UM's is one of their best balanced figures; the alt-mode and robot mode are good.

I think he was worth the $40. I bought the regular one. The cartoon color was about the same price IIRC.

The Diaclone color one is great too if you're into alternate color schemes, and usually a few bucks less than the regular ones.

$40 is a good price. I for one could not find the cartoon accurate colored version for less than $50. Don't forget about the delta Magnus. I went with the diaclone version because he was about $15 less and I already had MP UM in cartoon accurate colors. Plus DM looks awesome with IF smokescreen.

That said if you can score MP UM for only $80-100 he is well worth it IMO. Definitely worth twice this IF figure. I was happy for getting my re-issue MP UM for around $140 imported from Japan. Good luck and I am sure you will enjoy this IF UM no matter which variant you get.

The way tfsource had them listed I thought "classic color" was the aqua blue of the g1 toy. Is that wrong?

Heh - I wish I could get an MP UM for $80-$100, I was actually referring to MP figures in general, not specifically MP UM which I probably paid around $150 for myself (and totally happy with it at that price).

Thanks everyone for the feedback - I ended up pulling the trigger on the IF UM Classic version. Used an unknown china seller and am hoping for the best (but unfortunately expecting the worst). Probably no Diaclone for me. I've got a small shelf of random Diaclone colored figures - they are kinda like the outcasts - nowhere for them really to go as I got zero attachment to the Diaclone colors - more just for fun than anyhing else..

It took a month but I finally got this. My first of this line. Overall I like it a lot. The tabbing is a bit ambitious in an apparent quest to make sure the tractor form is super solid, but it makes an otherwise beautifully simple transformation more difficult than it needs to be.

The other problem is the only actual wheels it has end up off the ground. These are things I can live with tho. The detailed sculpting is wonderful. It has what looks to be like standard takara microman ports. I'd like to have more of these.

    Welcome to the club man!

Yea - as you can see in my above posts, this one was I think my first legends scale purchase. I was pretty happy with it so I bought another, and then another, and then another... lol. Got way too many now!

Another option you can look into are the MechfanToys KO's that have been released. They've been doing cheap but good QC KO versions of a bunch of DX9 WIP figures as well as IF KO's. So far the quality has been pretty solid on everything released and the prices are all about 50% or less of the originals - cheaper if you are in Asia and can just buy them at a regular store.

A couple suppliers have provided pricing for some via my rub deals if you're interested - otherwise they are mostly available via ebay from random sellers or whatever. Not sure if BBTS and the like are carrying MFT stuff, but unlikely since they are KO's.

I just recieved this figure a little bit ago, and I got some repro labels to go with him. Problem is, I cannot figure out where they're supposed to go! The ones I've squared off with red in my attached picture are the ones I'm having trouble figuring out where on the figure they're meant to go. Anyone able to help me here? WhereDoTheseGo.jpg

Looking at the website, the long pieces near the bottom go on the side of the legs, the blue rectangle near the top goes on the shield, the Autobot symbols likely go wherever you want them, and damned if I can see the weird-shaped blue ones on the legend anywhere.

Thanks! You helped me place all of them except the autobot symbols (I can't even think of a place they'd go) and those oddly shaped blue ones. Hopefully someone has an idea where they would go.

Just that it was supposed to come out in 2020, but instead it’s releasing a few days into 2021
