I think for the first year of their existence they were the same character.

Fuuuuuuuck. That was a great issue. Had me utterly absorbed. What a treat after a day spent running around like a blue-arsed fly.

In a way, I think it's good that Scott finished off where she did. The general problem with comics is that it's really hard to just keep a story going indefinitely. I think Transformers would be much stronger as a whole if the writers worked in 'series' of about 10-20 issues, building on previous stories and leaving a few threads hanging, but definitively closing a chapter every so often. Part of what made this issue work so well, for me, was that it didn't feel the need to set up countless subplots at the end to make sure we all come back next issue. There's still the Leige Maximo threat hanging over everything, and still room for many of the characters to be taken on new adventures, but it tied itself off neatly too, with a real end-of-era feeling. I really wish MTMTE had been able to do this before transitioning to Lost Light. MTMTE had ending chapters for seasons 1 and 2 that seemed to want to round things off in terms of their tone, but it was clear in both cases that the story, in every sense, was far from over. This right here is how to wind up a series in a way that's satisfying, and at the same time leaves you hoping the writer will come back for another run.

By that logic, we all belong in jail. It's only a hundred or so years ago when western approaches to other races was full on extermination..
I took the implication to be that it highlighted in his mind that he could be an entirely different person with different circumstances. A self realisation many undergo but he got to see it more literally. Who he might have been if he hadn't been born in s mass body in a society that saw him as hardware. If he'd been able to grow up free.

You can read a SUMMARY of what happens at tfwiki. Not quite the same as reading the comic, but you'll get the highlights. And it costs $0.00

Then you are not ENTITLED to read it.

If you can't afford a piece of entertainment, you do without.

The summary is free on the wiki.

I wonder how many "fans" stole this and led to its cancellation.

Anyone can say that if their circumstances had been different so would they, but the war still happened and he still made those choices. Seeing a physically better version of himself does and changes nothing. I haven't kept up with LL but isn't that essentially what Megatron realized about his life? Appearance had nothing to do with it. But had he made different choices things would have changed.

The story also presented that he was willing to change his ways but isn't (yet) getting the chance to do so. Unlike a certain someone in another dimension... If they ever meet up again it will be interesting to see how they interact given their new perspectives.

Plus the Cybertronians who willingly participated in the war and contributed to destruction of other worlds are the ones who should be in jail, not the NAILS.

I loved Starscreams depiction in this series, for me, he was such a loveable bastard.
But I was honestly shocked by the end. We've seen him slowly develop a conscience over the series, but right up till the end, I expected him to have 1 last trick up his sleeve.

Yeah he was pretty great in this series, in fact he was my favorite through all of IDW. So to see Furman, Barber amd Scott play with him and write him fairly consistently after all this time is fun. I don't mind seeing what they do with him after this.

Considering that this isn't the first time you've posted something like this in the last several months, I would advise
    a) spending the time you spend posting here looking for a job
    b) managing your finances more appropriately or choosing your financial priorities differently.

I think it's safe to say that this issue happens post-First Strike and the recent events of OP #13 and #14.

Yes, likewise. I was dreading the day that someone would finally tear down Starscream and win- I mean, we all knew it would happen eventually, I just never knew when- I simply didn't expect it to be him!

If you're not in charge of your own finances then begging random people on the internet for a handout isn't the way to go about obtaining goods. This is a good time to learn how to manage disposable income in order to figure out what you really need to spend money on, especially if you also don't control your income.

If you are in charge of your own finances you know perfectly well what it takes to scrounge up $8 and you should be ashamed at your lack of self respect to resort to begging people to give it to you. I mean, come on.

It just hit me that there's a supreme irony to Starscream's end here.

Namely, whenever he gains power, it's his own flaws that are always responsible for his downfall, be they short-sightedness, arrogance, or simple fear of Megatron's retribution.

Here, yet again, Starscream self-sabotaged himself. BUT the circumstances of that sabotage are radically different in that they came from selflessness rather than selfishness.

Oh man, you’re right. I just realized that as well. We even have that issue with “Starscream: The Movie” coming next year.

I guess Windblade was out of it for a really long time, enough time for the Visionaries crossover and whatever is going on right now in Optimus Prime to continue?
