They did; wave two Legends. They're in the leaks, which they acknowledged.

Legends Tailgate(from Windcharger), and then Decepticons Roadtrap and Battleslash, who are a take on the duocon Battletrap, and presumably combine to form him.

Yeah, that. I just forgot their names. They also said they have a 'nice combined mode', so I guess they confirmed the obvious.

Hasbro pays for good reviews; 15 invited fans gush about toys.

I'm questioning the value here. I'm also genuinely surprised Hasbro feels the need (or desire) to do these "events", when the fan sites already promote the toys. Is this a way for Hasbro to acknowledge the site owners and provide insider content to support them??

Nobody actually paid us, and I honestly think that these are good. No joke.

They never said we couldn't bash on them. Hell, I'll come out and say that Jazz is shite and Darkwind has boring colours.

But after seeing everything else in hand, it's all pretty good.

Actually, you can make out quite a bit of the artist rendering of Battleslash on the package to the left of Slash on the table. Looks like he is pretty much all white. You can also make out a tiny portion of Roadtrap's Box (bottom left panel of box showing a tiny part of the vehicle mode) which is above the Slash boxes on the table.

Nice to get official confirmation of this. Definitely looking forward to these guys. But I have to wonder if they are duo-con, then why not sell them in a set? Price could be a bit higher than a deluxe (say $20USD/$25CDN) and that would save customers having to hunt for both of them.

A bit of an inside joke, and a preview of the footage I'll put up later. The TCCA (Transformers Collectors Club Australia) has this one guy who started a joke, and we all ended up copying him.

Also want me to repost the images from the group in the comments here after work? Several people ended up taking them and posting them on FB. I can repost here.

It's probably less marketing and more to gauge fan interest from adult collectors. I mean why do it in Hong Kong (with only a population of 7 million) or Taiwan other than to generate data for internal use?

I don't know why you would bring a PMOP to compare to PotP Optimus; they're completely dissimilar. You should've brought an MP-10.

partial de-paint.(not a typo, they removed all paint for the gun and cast it in white)
the gun, shell arms, shell backpack, and inner bot body are the same mold.
the shell front, inner bot head, and prime emblem are a different mold.
so the most defining pieces are different, but the rest is reused.

That's one of the toys Griffin brought along in case anyone wanted to check it out since it's not being released in Australia at all. He also brought the Grotusque and all the other non-POTP toys you see in that shot. Very generous of him to share like that, especially given the fragility of some of them.

I have to agree, the back end of the POTP Jazz is completely free of paint, great opportunity for anyone happy to use a paint brush, but for those who don't want to touch up their figures it's really blank looking from the back.

I asked if there were any plans to release the dinobots with a metallic silver paint and they said they were not aware of it at this time.

I should have suggested that with the Ark set from SDCC a few years ago. That would be awesome!

As others mentioned, we weren't paid, except that we got to play with these new toys. And have a close up look at the Movie prime statue and the Ultimetal Prime, amongst a few other things. The Hasbro Australia brand managers were there and many of us took the opportunity to talk to them, learn a few things and provide our feedback on past releases and our hopes for the future. A hot topic is special release items like the recent Arcee and Grotusque releases that we will not be seeing here. Our Hasbro guys didn't realise they were getting a retail release, otherwise they would have tried to arrange for a special release here through TRU or something similar. Once they did find out it was too late.

I'd like to think it's a great opportunity for Hasbro Australia to understand more about their committed customer base and for us fans to influence what higher end cool stuff they might try to sell in country. two way street and all that.

I spent too much time talking to Hasbro, and didn't get around to the Rodimus figure, but I can tell you there were two of them on hand and they were rarely sitting on the table untouched, I did hear a few people exclaim their enjoyment, though some thought the combined bot fist placement was a bit off putting in vehicle mode. Another comment I heard was the hot rod arms were not as visible in Rodimus mode as they had thought based on prior online images.

My pick for the day was Windcharger, it's transformation is reminiscent of the Prime RID Vehicon, albeit on a smaller scale. I also like how they've managed to keep the aerialbot mould a little fresh with completely new wing mechanics. I put some pictures up on my twitter @Ultra_Marginal

You have time for a hobby such as this between your shoots in Milan as a male model?
