Well. I was really busy, and was tapped from 'restoring' my car. So I had to put off getting, what for me, was the most exciting release of the last 10 years.

    My thoughts:

Wonderful. Does not feel any more " Magnus-y" than G1 did to G1 Magnus. Excellent, hulking, powered-the-Hell-up-Reborn Optimus. Hell yes.

    The downsides:

Un-painted. C'mon, I paid 50 bucks for this, paint the damned rims.

Legs have to "splayed" like Cyberton-era figures, but idc because he's always gonna be displayed walking, or posed in action.

That's about it. I love that Titan Return is all Headmaster. It's more cohesive to just be the heads, and cross-play with all the other size classes. I'm absolutely in love with Titans Return, so I'm probably biased.

But as an ancient collector, with hundreds of Optimus Primes, this is easily my favorite since Optimal Optimus Primal

... I've returned toys that I've opened because they stunk. Granted, I pack them carefully, and I try to make them look as if they've been unopened. Sometimes a toy just sucks.

Sometimes people talk about "their" James Bond meaning the one they grew up familiar with. Well this was "my" Optimus Prime. I loved the original pre-PM Prime of course but only in retrospect. By the time I started reading Marvel UK the original was already dead, so his resurrection and subsequent adventures meant PM OP was the one I saw 'live' as it were. As such this toy has HUGE amounts of nostalgia value for me.

Yes the legs are a bit irritating. And not just because he won't close his legs properly (oo er missus) but because when I try and adjust them for poses the wrap around grey side segments of the lorry seem to pop out of their clips too easily.

The bit of plastic that covers the top of the cab and folds down into the chest in robot mode *does* feel a little fragile and I do feel that more and more with Transformers toy lines there are sometime key bits of figures secured with spindly bits of plastic that can easily show stress marks (see also tiny sliver of plastic connecting his flip up chest decoration part to his crotch- something else I have a mild quibble with as this section doesn't seem to tab in to anything on his chest securely in robot mode). This does impact my enjoyment of them as I obsess over small details on figures.

Hi-Q/Apex is a really nice homage. Base mode...it's okay. I'm more bothered about bot and lorry mode though. And both of those are, above very minor quibbles aside, GORGEOUS.

    Wal Mart does it.
They do it for customer service.
And yes- they often times try to resell it.

Oh yes they can, especially if you open things extremely carefully and repackage things extremely carefully. I keep the packaging of all my figures and never undo the taped bio cards. You can also reinsert those plastic locking straps with ease if you have agile fingers (though I do miss the simple twist ties). He is perfectly packaged in the exact same way and positioned with weapon in hand and plastic chest protective slip plastic-banded back on. No tape residue left from the initial removal of the one strip of tape on the box side and a new piece of factory grade tape. He is back on the self waiting for a good home.

Hm sneaky. That explains why I sometimes have the feeling a seemingly misb figure feels like it was opened before. But I'm not a misb collector and the figures were always fine, so I push away the thought of maybe not being the first guy to open the figure.

Said it before, but a little paint goes a long way. (and some new guns too). My complaints about this mold have been fixed and I like it way more than Takara's now.

Had this guy for awhile now but I still enjoy fiddling with it. Apparently the popular complaint not is the red is not red enough and the gray isn't gray enough, and that because of this he doesn't look like optimus prime anymore, which is about the dumbest thing I've heard in awhile. Optimus has been cast in a few different shades of red over the years but this one matches just fine with any other version I've got.

Sure he's got hollow bits and could use some paint apps, stickers. What's that?

For the price, I think he's a good deal.

Having picked up both PM Prime and Ginrai that's pretty much how I feel. Ginrai is a big upgrade compared to PM Prime but it's one that you pay for. If you want a super fun PM Prime that won't break the bank then this one is your guy. It's not perfect by any means but it is still tons of fun.

I got a black repaint, Primitive/Skateboard version. This mold is passable if viewed as a Magnus repaint. There's not enough efforts injected for this to become a Powermaster Prime - lack of a transforming cab, and without a powermaster. Cannot even represent, not to mention exceed.

Good if you want to add another red/blue truck & trailer with Optimus helmet into your collection. Not recommended if you're looking for a moderate faithful update of Powermaster OP/Convoy. If you have G1 or reissue, this fails to surpass.

Don't know if anyone posted this already but this is my version of Powermaster Optimus Prime's battle station mode which doubles as Jinrai Prime's throne. ;)

I didn't find any thread for the "Primitive" version of this mold. So I guess it can go here ?

I loved the Ultra-Magnus toy, so I was happy when I saw it was gonna be remolded into Powermaster Prime. But for this specific character, I prefered to get the second remold into God Ginrai (The version with the translucid windshield where you can see the pilot through is just GORGEOUS !)

Still, I liked the "regular" version of TR "PM Prime" but as a toy of its own, not as the character. The exagerated big grill and tiny windshield were very stylish to me. So When I had a chance to get the "Primitive" black repaint at a reasonnable price (100 euros), I dived in.

I like the fist version (Ultra Magnus) and the third version (God Ginrai) so it was not a surprise to me that i was pleased with this one.
Especially as it is some sort of a missing link between the two. It's imposing in vehicule mode, dynamic in bot mode and very versatile in base mode.
And for the following pictures, as I consider it as a different character than PM Prime, I choosed to remove the chest plate to enjoy the big grill in both modes. And won't use the "primitive" skating exclusives parts.

As you guess, I'm not at all into the "primitive" theme. Not a brand I know or care for.
So when time and money will be more available, this toy will be customidsed into the inevitable Nemesis Prime theme.
Here is a CG custom :
