    Don't do it just 'cos I said so, but I'm pretty sure no screen. Blinking light sounds right - I think it plays a noise, too.

    i thought a transforming robot phone was long ago done way better with Power Rangers Wild Force/Gaoranger with their morpher phones.

    Not all versions have the bluetooth alert LED on the toy. The three that were released in September (red Optimus, grey Megatron, black Bumblebee) appear to have it. But of the two release in December, the white Optimus has it, but the red Optimus doesn't, as it appears to be a cheaper re-release without the electronics and good figure stand included.
    The white one has a release date of December 16th, while the cheaper red version comes out December 23rd.

    So it looks like there are already five versions of this au X Transformers Infobar toy for fans to collect.

    So it’s not like we know which version BBTS is getting, I’ll be sure to post which it is whenever I get mine, personally tho I don’t care about the electronics enough to cancel an order, I just want a robot with a silly alt mode

    Good point, too!

    Since they are pretty far "down the line" (Takara -> Crowdfund -> Takara Release -> Convention Release -> US Release), I just assumed.

    I can confirm the version bbts sells does not have the electronics, just emailed them as the listing on the site states it’s the version with Bluetooth, hopefully they will change it to be accurate
