I definitly, objectively don't see any words about "reboot. She and Sena said about new series of Movies, obviously spin-offs and prequels. But it's the same Universe, it's not a reboot! Even Bonaventura unumbigously implied, that Bumblebee Movie connected with others.

Steinfeld is a great actress. True Grit proved that when she was just a kid. She had enough personality to go up against Jeff Bridges without just being drowned out of existence in the awesome. That's more acting skill than 95% of what I saw in the first few Transformers films.

As for the others, I haven't seen them in other roles so I can't form an opinion either way.

First with the whole reboot thing, I think the problem is that when people hear the term \"reboot\", they often think of something like the continuity being completely wiped and we\'re left to start fresh when in reality, there are two kinds of reboots. There\'s the hard reboot where everything gets wiped and altered and then there\'s the soft reboot which is usually done for film series that a studio either doesn\'t want to abandon just yet or has been through so much abuse before a new entry that this new entry, despite being canon, will have some alterations to show differences in things such as tone and more. The Force Awakens is a good example of a soft reboot. It\'s clear it\'s canon to the Star Wars film series, including the prequels but it\'s a soft reboot and thus, it kind of gives us a clean slate but at the same time? It doesn\'t go insane with it.

As for this piece of news? I\'m just going to say right off the bat, if this does well? Give me a movie on Cybertron showing the war. I don\'t care if they throw out the protoforms or screw with canon since to be fair this film\'s timeline has been such a mess. I want to see a story completely set on Cybertron.

This will never, ever, EVER happen in the live action franchise. We may get scenes shot on Cybertron, but unless they can find a way to shoehorn scifi style spaceship travel for humans and make them have a huge presence on Cybertron, there's zero hope of a film's major plot being centered on Cybertron.

I was hoping they'd pull an X-Men First Class with this movie, pulling the ol' prequel-reboot.

Hasbro really needs to get more directly involved with these. I'm hoping they'll use this as the perfect opportunity. These movies really need to be more, ah, family friendly.

and y'know, the robots need to actually HAVE ROLES.

Well, they actually said that because Bumblebee is having a smaller budget, they'll try to be more character and story driven instead of just action spectacles. Hope they know what they're doing this time

Poor use of the term "reboot."

I'm getting the feeling most people in Hollywood don't know what a reboot actually is.

I had a set of boots that got worn, so I threw them out and went to the shoe store and got a new set.

Does that qualify as a reboot?

In Hollywood that would indeed qualify.

Which is ironic since I think they are the ones who created the term reboot. I know they didn't create the word reboot in general but I think they created the word reboot for certain movies. Since I didn't start hearing it used that way until they made films they didn't feel like remakes.
