First thing I noticed when he was transformed into Rodimus was the reds don't mind between the Hot Rod body and Rodimus trailer parts. Unless that is a lighting thing, that kinda stinks.

The smaller rodimus figure is just such an improvement over the TR figure; I wish I knew about this version before I bought the TR figure. Oh well.

I also really like how this is just a total rip of the old protector armor figure. It's just being done better.

 

Wow. I am surprised by how much I dislike this. Like...really surprised. The Hot Rod is SO simplistic, like that's almost more simplistic than the Starscream or your average Silverbolt. And I am just fully not into the proportions. The Rodimus...it's a basic stretch out which I was expecting but the parts forming arms are sch a design flaw. I don't mind the partsforming but the stalks they attach to are not only multi jointed and awkwardly placed for attractive posing but they do not look strong enough to hold up the arm over any length of time, they'll droop in no time. Plus the colour contrast is super distracting. Really Really surprised by how much I am not seeing the money. I think Optimus does it WAY better. Orion is a really nice figure with good proportions and just complex enough to engage, the trailer transformation is a little more involved and the Optimus looks really clean (I like how the panels feel like armour and the legs like a boost pack) and has much more solid articulation in the shoulders.

Really caught me off guard this one.

Looks like Hasbro has taken queues from Fansproject. If I\'m not mistaken, this is the second transformer that Hasbro has tried..
I think Hasbro needs to take on a little more queues on cleaning up their figures. It looks a bit messy.

 

I'm not into it, at all. Fake Hot Rod chest, simplistic Hot Rod design, bad articulation and horrible backpacks in both of them, partsforming... Apart from the legend class I'm afraid I will skip the whole toy line

Wow. For those who are excited for it, great, I'm honestly glad that you're getting something you want, and for at least a few of you, you've been waiting a long time.

Personally... I don't think I'm actually enamored by anything this figure does; it's like a bare bones requisite checklist to just get a passing grade. I was right that I was concerned that they had the Hot Rod portion do too much, be a car, be the front end to the Winnebago, be Hot Rod, be Rodimus Prime's torso and shoulders. Also, this probably sounds wrong to a lot of people, but he just seems too big in Rodimus form. For me, despite it's few flaws, Legends Targetmaster Hot Rod just works for me, and that'll be my Hot Rod.

At some point, with a sale or discount, or whatever, I may get Rodimus Unicronus or whatever he's called to have a Shattered Glass/Unicron tormented Rodimus, but as is, pass.

 

Would liked if we had them in the States already really want both Optimus and Rodimus finally I\'ll have a Rodimus Prime to add to my collection 

 

I actually find this to be beyond awful. I have a classic Hot Rod and I may actually go and look for his 3P trailer.

Wow, his shoulders really are behind his head. That looks SO stupid.... And his arms don't match. This thing looks like a mess, really. I'm getting tired of all these useless gimmicks on characters that don't need them. Sigh...

 

Now let\'s take a moment to consider how great this Rodimus would\'ve been if they hadn\'t wasted the plastic and time on a shitty Hot Rod Combiner portion
