So nothing, as per usual. What a waste of syntax. I've explained in depth why the boner joke on a forum is harmless and why dog humping in a film is irrelevant and bad. You ambushed me with an irreverent image out of context and have employed mental gymnastics ever since to marry that image with Micheal bay's garbage directing. You have nothing to address and certainly nothing constructive to post. Again, read if you can, my analogy of asses and why liking asses isn't the same as keeping your camera fixated on woman's asses in a movie about robots. You respond to tone like a passive aggressive teenage girl and then turn around and condescend to me by suggesting I can't use words despite me running around your terrible arguments three times now. How's that for hypocrisy? If you're going to be so thin skinned and butthurt about an image or my criticism of bay's garbage films then you might as well block me, it would save me having to try to explain simple things to a simpler person to apparently no avail.

Do you think this thread would be better off it was moved into the movie forum?

I agree with most of this. I agree there was too much going on in The Last Knight, and I enjoy the many of sequels more than the first film.

And while there's no doubt the 2007 movie made an impact by simple virtue of being the first live action Transformers film, I also don't think the answer is simply recreating that in future films, because one can only have live action Transformers for the first time once. That's probably why I like some of the sequels more than the 2007 film, because they knew they couldn't do that, so they simply knew what they were and ran with it (except for The Last Knight, which I feel didn't know as well what it wanted to be) and often tried new things that some fans like myself loved and others hated. I think future films should try to get audiences interested by trying new angles and not just recreating previous efforts.

I think there should be one last regular sequel to wrap up the stories of Unicron, Optimus, Megatron/Galvatron, and Quintessa/the Creators, and tie them together in some way. No planets coming to Earth or Earth transforming; make it smaller scale in CGI terms than The Last Knight. We don't need much in the way of new characters. Maybe just a few new antagonists that act as minions or allies of Unicron. Not all surviving characters, robot or human, need to return. Cogman, for instance, was connected to Hopkins' character, so let him live angrily ever after, and please no Dino or Sideswipe appearing alive just to appease fans. One last Prime vs Megatron fight (I would love it if he was turned into a new form of Galvatron by Unicron), one last battle with the Pathetic Dirty Foursome, Hot Rod, Dinobots, Dragonstorm, and maybe some uncorrupted Decepticons fighting the forces of Unicron, preferably in a landscape away from major cities. End with a bang. Till all are one.

Hahahaha! This line of logic is quite humorous to me!

Question: Isn't a boner joke on a forum just as irrelevant and bad as a brief scene of humping dogs?
How exactly do you excuse toilet/sexual jokes in one breath and in the very next one condemn it?
It's one or the other, its either harmless or irrelevant and bad, it cannot be both.

Back to the topic at hand.
I think there are a lot of good ideas in the films of they were properly explored. Perhaps the new direction will be to explore the background stories hinted at in the films.

From what I hear, The Last Knight was a total waste already, so what’s the loss?

It’s really not hard to imagine how TF6 would end up in that scenario. Bay would decide to come back and direct it so he could finish off another trilogy because “someone else would fuck it up” (paraphrasing Bay’s previous comment in regard to retuning for TF4). There’d be some human drama that partially ignores the previous two movies while simultaneously introducing new contradictory and confusing plot elements. There’d be some new revelation about the TFs that also contradicts previous movies. Throw in a bunch of over-the-top robot fights, Prime becoming even more murderous, mute Bumblebee (again), Decepticons that don’t at all resemble the fan favorite characters whose names they bear (and who die quickly), a nighttime chase scene or two, unnecessary sexual humor, a big-name award-winning actor cast simply as a name drop, and the big finale featuring Unicron partially transforming and destroying half the earth in the process — only to be thwarted by some maguffin or the power of love/hope/friendship and there you go.

Finish it off with a “my name is Optimus Prime and I send this message…” and it’s a wrap.

Isn’t it time for a full reboot?

Not sure if you posted that in response to my previous post. If so, I don’t dispose the fans nor do I mean to take enjoyment away from those who like the Bay movies.

Ill put this here. From Wikipedia:

"He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1986, majoring in both English and Film. He was a member of the Psi Upsilon fraternity and a favorite student of film historian Jeanine Basinger. For his graduate work, he attended Art Center College of Design in Pasedana where he also studied film."

He knows how to make movies. This is his style. He has said before that he makes movies for teenage boys. Ass shots and toilet humor are what most teenage boys enjoy. He's not a garbage director who makes garbage films. He's a successful director who makes successful films aimed directly at his intended audience. And his intended audience loves his movies.

Indeed. People are quick to dismiss his other movies such as Pain And Gain, 13 Hours. But those movies are thought-provoking, highly enjoyable flicks that deserve more recognition. His 1st and 3rd Transformers movies are actually really really good. I thought the third was a good send off for Bay but Paramount and Hasbro thought otherwise. They opened up the story which should have been wrapped up with the third.

I do feel like Paramount may not commit to finish the "Unicron Trilogy". Michael Bay's comment is oddly ominous. If I recall correctly, they even wrapped up the TMNT series without giving a third installment similar to what Sony did for Amazing Spider-Man.

I still consider his first and third to be the worst in the franchise. ROTF was enjoyable, but I was overjoyed with the soft reboot of AOE and liked TLK very much.
I would be disappointed if they didn't continue the Unicron story.
