So after watching the Vangelus review of this guy I was pretty much sold on whom I can only now call my favorite Alligned Universe character to never actually exist. Having the figure in my hands, though, I did feel that Air Raid Fireflight reeked a bit too much of 2012 what with the lack in paint apps. As such, I took a few pages from whatever I could find of his mold ancestor Shockwave and added whatever fiery Aerialbot flair I could and, well, feel free to see for yourself! I'm contemplating selling this guy, so if anybody's interested in buying him off my hands, feel free to hit me up!
Glad you like them! I wanted to be extra careful to match whatever official source material was out there, and thank goodness the gold colored paint I had on me matched precisely with the plastic! I love this figure, especially its weaponry. However, since he's not a combiner and he looks so scary, I use this figure as a Decepticon (I just covered his chest emblem and added a 'con symbol to his shoulder.) I named him Firestrike, which is the name used by the Kre-O iteration of this figure. The fanmode transformation is a nice option too, good for distinguishing him from Shockwave in altmode.
I wish I replied to you sooner because boy do I like your thinking! If you ask me, the fact that Jetfire's an Aerialbot in the WFC universe makes a part of me think a hypothetical Superion would behave a lot like G1 Piranacon, because that 5mm peg under Fireflight's chest would make him absolutely perfect for a Targetmaster.
Damn nice! Looks like it was took right out of the game. Wish I had a extra one to paint. Mine is in the card still. awesome dry brush, that aged look is perfect.
Thanks! I think it's safe to say I always thought the FOC figures needed just a little bit more of an oomph to their paint apps, and believe me the extra layer makes Fireflight feel dead solid. If you don't feel like spending too much time and money on painting a new figure yourself, you're more than welcome to buy this one here for yourself!
