When was the last time they actually did that? That isn't possible. The effect with the transparent parts is achieved by painting the reverse side. Chrome doesn't work that way.
I'll keep my preorder for Optimus for now. Things can change if the fans complain enough (i.e. gray Char to drab teal Char). I'm still hoping for a blue fisted, wheel painted Optimus.
These are new photos, also Rodimus has different tone of red to the Hasbro version, so i guess these are in fact the Takara releases.
The whole point of Takara toys was to do something in a slightly different way to make it so the Japanese fan might buy the Hasbro stuff and the Western Fans would buy Both too. (or at leas they have more choice of which one they do get). So I'll look at these pics and make a comment on what I would have EXPECTED them to do based on what Hasbro has already done. Windcharger : Painted wheel hubs and different shade of red and window colours, with perhaps a silver back logo and black or dark grey forehead on the robot mode Beachcomber : Silver painted accents on the rollbar (or off white), an off centre autobot logo on one leg or his forearm - different shade of blue (darker) possibly a white chest Slash : Better quality gold paint on the head under a pure clear head. perhaps more paint on the neck and tail. Rodimus : Different flame pattern on chest, painted silver wheel hubs. a different shade of red, different colour cabin glass. some more paint on the roof of the vehicle mode, different coloured robot legs. A-Pillars on Hotrod Optimus : Painted details only - No stickers (except perhaps on the side of the truck), different more silvery grey, Blue hands in super mode, painted wheels. Jazz : a few more sponsor Logos on the side of the car combo gold and silver painted wheel rims. perhaps a slight tint or smoke to the clear pieces. New tampo or paint on the tail spoiler part. - Painted tail lights. *** If they do release them with no colour changes then I likely will skip the whole line. Hopefully these are just place holders and the final products will be more distinct. I don't think Takara would release Starscream in the same state that Hasbro did there's- at the very least they'd not use shiny low quality stickers on him. The only possible reason I can see for them actually releasing them as identical toys is to share an economy of scale to keep prices down (since everyone was complaining about that with The last Knight). But who knows Hasbro might get the message about how dreadful their Voyagers look and perhaps instead of un-needed and poorly chosen platinum sets they might re-issue some of the sticker ruined items again in gift sets or twin packs. It's so annoying when they have shown they can do perfectly reasonable tampos on other products in the same line.
Pretty sure these are placeholder images. Jazz still has the same problem the Hasbro version has and is more likely to say Meister than Jazz surely?
Is it too much to hope that they will give Windcharger thigh swivels? They were doing so good with the legs on Brawn, Seaspray and now Beachcomber. I\'m very surprised they went back to the stiff thighs on Windcharger.
Hoping these are just place holder images. If not, then I'll just cancel my PO for Optimus, Roddy, and Jazz...
Definitely not place holders, Hot Rodimus' red tone it's sightly different to Hasbro, and these are new images (that we haven' seen yet), the same thing happened to the TLK line. We thought the first images were placeholders, but in fact, they were the same as the Hasbro version in the end.
Was really hoping that Takara would extend the Legends line. Really love Takara G1 animated color scheme, names and box art. Guess maybe Takara will hear my plea to continue with the Legends line and skip this PP line. If not Grand Maximus and Greatshot will be the last of the line.
No way they're placeholders; otherwise they wouldn't have bothered taking new photos. I don't think there are any color differences either, it's just how Takara photographs/photoshops their toys to look darker. The only good thing about this is that I have an excuse to get the toys earlier now. But I preferred waiting a few months to get a higher quality toy.
I hate to break it to you, but Amazon Japan has these photos up in open view. In what world does a (reputable) business put up stock images that aren't at least 95% representative of the completed commercial product?
Oh well then, looks loke these are fully skippable, hopefully the dinobots will be a UW set against Leokaiser with a leozack made from Starscream/Elita
This is terrible news for the TransFormers fans. We have nowhere to get good looking versions of most of these figures. TakaraTomy also will be killing their import market because nobody wants to pay high prices for crap, whether Hasbro makes it or TakaraTomy makes it. Unpainted clip on wheels are absolutely inexcusable at $40+. Looks like it is back to 3rd party for me, unless they have other plans for these molds. It's a shame because the molds are good, they just lack essential details to not look like shit, especially when the rest of your collection is nicely detailed TakaraTomy items. I will wait and see, but this is very disappointing. Hardly any Masterpiece news of relevance and now they are skipping out on essential details in a fan-themed line - their trademark.
These look like Hasbro versions to me, I think people are mistaken? We most likely will first see the Takara versions in the next Figure King?
These are the Takara versions. They're just pulling a TLK and not changing anything. Which also explains why the prices for these are cheaper than Legends.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, choke on it Takara Elitists, these look just as bad as the "Hasblow" versions. (for the sake of clarity, I myself dont think the Hasbro versions look bad, i enjoy them quite a bit.)
