Well if you check takara's potp listing they have vector prime, leige maximo, etc listed as that small price point....so they are mentioning the primes.

Also, im sure some people will refer to them as the primes in keeping with the gimmick. You can't just assume everyone is going to ignore all that

 

This is true, especially with kids or when referencing them officially/in context. However, in casual TF conversation, how many people, for example, refer to Titanmasters as "Headmasters" instead?

 

enough people seem to refer to the actual titanmaster class characters as titanmasters and deluxe class and above as headmasters....its all who you talk to but its enough so you can't say "nobody calls them that"

 

There's only one new deluxe in the wave so far, and that might be it for that wave, but we don't know if it will be the last wave of deluxes for PotP or not. I doubt it is, and very likely all we know is what is expected for just 2018, and that there will be more PotP stuff released into 2019.

There have been a few revision waves in the past in Generations, but they are rare. Pretty sure that Combiner Wars had one early on, too.

 

I doubt it will be the last wave of Potp mainly due the fact were missing 4 to 5 prime sparks that makes me believe the could be at least 1 to 2 waves of Potp in 2019.

Plus with this new movie line also in 2018 it could explain the lack of 4 full waves in potp.

 

Wave 2 revision 1. Drops an Air Raid for a Dragstrip.

IIRC there's some later ones as well, one with w6 Autobots and w5 Combaticons.

 

Outback is a nice surprise. Expected but nice. Looking forward to seeing what the duo cons look like.

What? No Rodimus & Optimus Prime included in Wave 2 and 3? Just 1 leader figure per wave?

 

Optimus is being repacked in Wave 2, Rodimus meanwhile is getting his SG redeco released.

 

Am I the only one who thinks they look like repainted/slightly retooled Multiforce characters? I know they’re not super clear, but I still think the picture of Battleslash in that photo is the combined Battletrap mode & they just put the wrong graphic up (the Roadtrap picture looks like the bottom half of Battleslash too)

If I was guessing I’d say Roadtrap is either Dash or Tacker, though as none of Multiforce turn into a helicopter I wonder if Battleslash will get a different aerial mode (probably Mach from the look of things) And hey, Multiforce/Landcross would be perfect for this line too!

 

The duocons are an amazing surprise!   I hope they're designed well, and don't end up a floppy, springy disaster!   Cause this is Hasbro... their track record is very hit and miss.   So fingers crossed...

(And hopefully these releases encourages an adventurous 3P to try their hand at a better version!  )

Can't wait for Outback (we need an update!). And even the Legends dino repaint might end up interesting...  

Oh, and Tailgate!       I really dig the Windcharger mold (I even like his huge head!  )! So getting a repaint there is awesome - in for at least 3-4!  

 

I hope the line up of Deluxes,Voyagers and Leaders presented here aren't all we're going to get for this line. Something tells me we're looking at what we'll have in POTP period.

 

So we already have Arcee and Chromia and now we are getting Elita-1, Moonracer and Novastar.

Is there anyone we are missing.

I'm not including the fan made Female Autobots because they are not part of the original cast of Female Autobots.

 

Yeah, just like everything for CW and TR was revealed this far prior to release.

Greenlight and Lancer were in the same episode that introduced Elita, et al.

 

But they weren't named until a botcon comic.

 

I have my suspicions that this isn't every thing I'd bet on at least a 5th wave.

My reason

there's 12 prime sparks but we only have 8 I don't see predaking getting the missing ones included in his box set.

I've personally and I'd assume others have gotten collector cards with primes that have no current figure announced / leaked.

Anyway unless were going back two the day of multiple box sets I see no reason to have all the prime sparks for individual release.

Either HasTak is smart enough to give us the missing combiner limbs in later waves - because people clearly do want Greenlight and Lancer, and Inferno getting stuck with only Jazz as a limb is just silly - or we're going to get stuck with hunting online and Walgreens exclusives.

Just because fan configs of Volcanicus are aesthetically less grating than the version at the toy conventions (YMMV, of course) doesn't mean we should expect HasTak to ignore the money potential of completing these combiners. Frankly, they should embrace minor retooling to avoid fan burnout on boring late-wave repeats of characters nobody wants. TR Blurr was used thrice, and each time felt unique enough to me to justify the expense.

Plus, Sideswipe, Red Alert, Tracks, and Hoist can all use updates, we still have four Throttlebots to go (five counting Goldbug, but some Shapeways customization can fix that), and Cliffjumper, Hubcap, and a decent Pipes to go. Plus, there's the potential in new molds like Aileron, Swift, Anode and Lug (YMMV may again vary re: those 2   ), and so on.

Plus, as noted - we're still down four Primes. Got to get them in somewhere ...
