I'm waiting til it's all 'aired' myself, though I expect my initial reaction of feeling even more disgusted than last time that somebody paid money for that 'quality' of audio post-production will remain the same

I cut 3 slices into my dogs, then boil to defrost. But unless I'm completely wiped, I drain the water & throw some margarine into the pan to brown them up.

Boiling isn't awful, but I definitely prefer browning them w butter afterward. Boiling is something you really only do when you just want something edible.

I would adore an hour long supplental of Seth ranting about his room mate to Vangelus. That would be the funniest thing. I want more of that

I had a roommate in college who would invite people over to our dorm to watch porn with him. It was super awkward.

In response to my own listener question, I can't believe I didn't think of it at the time, but Ratbat would totally play like one of those hypnotherapy tapes that people would listen to while they sleep to stop smoking or something.

You already heard the best of it, there might be a couple more little stories of when he was a roommate and a few other stories about this guy but I don't think I would have an hour worth.

Interesting to hear you guys get in to a discussion about music.

The pop music business you were referring to though, is generally not a new thing (you never said it was, it just seems people are just finding out about it now). That type of thing was going on in the 90s and 80s. Just now everyone has easier access to the same banks due to internet, etc. Katy Perry, Kesha, Lady Gaga (just to name recent ones), were all/still are songwriters for other artists. A lot of them use pen names too. Not exclusive to pop either, it also happens a lot with commercial rock too.

Regarding Seth's comments about radio, yeah. It's terrible. I was a radio DJ for five years. It is not a fun industry to be in, and the era of the 'DJ' has been dead for a long, long time.

Unless you're already a huge name or celebrity with their own show, your pretty much bound to what the big corporate machine tells you to do.

Surely Ravage would be a Pantera tape.

Also, I've always wanted to try deep fried turkey, because apparently it's so good it's literally worth dying for.

    (Edit)
I've got a story about the one that got away. It kills me to even remember it. It's not a retail horror story though, these toys never went out to brick and mortar.

Before the Mythic Legion, before the Ravens or the Gothitropolis Scarabus guys, the Four Horsemen put out a line of minotaurs, the Xetheus toys. Now, I'm a big fan of minotaurs, they are arguably my favorite mythological creature and I love that fantasy settings are making a more concerned effort to integrate them. Steers of all breeds are neat animals, and Xetheus came in all kinds of coloration. Even Holstein, AKA "proper cow colors".

I know all of this trivia because of research, performed after the fact. Long after the fact. By the time I had even heard of the Four Horsemen, Xetheus had been sold out at all retailers for years. I never had a chance. I used to have this insane idea that if I'd gotten into collecting just a couple years earlier, I could have gotten Xetheus, but alas.

Due to let production numbers, Xetheus and his cowhorts were all sold out quickly, and have quickly climbed to "way too much" prices online. Ever since then I've become everything short of a Kickstarter supporter when it comes to Four Horsemen lines I like. I got the Scarabus I wanted the day they went up for sale, I pre-ordered Eagalus 1.0 the day those orders went up, and same for the two Mythic Legion ladies I have on pre-order. The only 4H figures I've risked buying at retail were some of their catgirls (atrocious ankles) and a couple of their big sales on ML stuff.

The story does have something of a happy ending. I never got a Xetheus, and short of getting into the Will of someone who owns one I've resigned myself to never having one. But what I did eventually get was one of the new Mythic Legion Minotaurs, a black one with blue armor. It's not perfect, it's not what I lost, but it's enough to please me, enough to fill that beefy hole in my collection. And sure, it's just the one so far, but I know they make others and if I ever see one on sale, I might have to grab it. Start a new herd.

Kind of a crazy (imo) nostalgia story: During the homestay portion of my study abroad program in Japan I found out that one of the family members—early 40’s (I think) with a wife and kid—was really into Dragon Ball when he was in high school. I then told him I was really into Dragon Ball Z when I was a kid in the mid-90’s and we sort of bonded over that. It was this crazy thing where we had the same reference for nostalgia but off by a decade because of the lag in adapting/localizing DBZ to the west. Same thing sort of happened with Gundam: I watched Gundam Wing in the 90’s and they remembered when the original Gundam model kits were selling like crazy in the 70’s.

As for franchises “never going away,” his mom said she remembered him and his brother being really into Himitsu Sentai Goranger which is crazy because now his son 4-year-old-son was into the current Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. And since I was following those shows as well, I actually understood what the son was talking about when other members of his family were baffled. Ok, now picture that for a second: the foreign kid who speaks your language at barely a 1st grade level is communicating and understanding a member of your family better than you are. They joked it was because I was closer to him in age than I was the rest of them.

Oh snap, I had no idea that Voyager Optimus was considered exceptionally good! I got the Defender Optimus Prime (2010) as a Christmas present and it was the first Transformer I'd gotten in years. But since it was the first movie toy I got, it was extremely confusing/frustrating to transform and I don't think I ever got it right by the time I sold it a year ago!

Hey! Figuarts ZERO are great...when they will be the only option EVER to get a product of a certain character.
(ie: Sigma from Megaman X, Sigh~!)

also sorry, I'm gonna start to weeb-out...but it's bugging me everytime I hear it...Seth, the Ranma 1/2 character "Akane" whose name you keep mentioning is actually pronounced "Ah-Ka-Ne" not "A-Cane" lol

Sorry about that, I haven't watched any Ranma in a really long time so I hadn't heard the name in a while and forgot but how you spelled it out I get how I was getting it wrong.
