Since we almost got every Autobot/Decepticon made in a Masterpiece-style (With the exception of some combiners, and various Headmaster/Masterforce/Victory/Zone-characters, and obscure bots like the Sparkabots, and Firecons), and more head/target-masters, and combiners on the way, what will happen to the 3rd party community, and companies, when evry character has been done?
As for myself, I'm happy, when all the G1-characters are made in an adequate way (depending on personal preferences), which shoulnd't be a concern, since most character are produced by at least three 3rd party companies.
The next, logical step would be Beast wars. But are people actually interested in MP-style figures of BW, and beyond?
I mean: I get, that there are many fans of BW, and/or BM, and there are already two offial BW Masterpiece figures. But: they don't fit in the MP-scale. So, if 3rd-party companies would get into the beast-era.. would/should it be an entirely different scale (as Hastak does), or should they fir into the "current" MP-scale? ... e.g. Rat-Trap, and Waspinator would be smaller than the official MP-cassettes...
However, even if the Beast-era character are done (which should take a much shorter time, since there are far less beast-era-characters, than S1-S4 characters)... what will be the next step?
Would you like MP-figures of later series (e.g. a MP-style Armada-Optimus Prime, or an MP-style Prime-Starscram), or would you finish/close your collection when all G1-inspired charactersare done?

Just continue with the established BWMP scale.
    And continue with Transmetals.

    Well, that's an interesting... reaction.
However, for me, it is interesting to receive opinions on "where shall 3rd partiy-companies go", and/or "what do MP-style-collectors want, after #G1isdone .

I have to confess, that I a not a huge fan, of the beast-era, however, if there were adequate MP-versions, I would consider buying them... The thing is: As I mentioned before: the official figure, as good, as they are, are not to scale woth the current MP-line/style. For me (personally) this is a "no-go". I would like to buy a MP Optims Primal (and other beast-sharacters(, however, since I am also a "perfectionist" when it comes to scale, Ihave to exclude the official MPs (as good, as they may be).

Once the complete set of G1 Autobot and Decepticon MPs are done, they'll move on. That said, while many are concerned about placeholder bots from 3P, I would suspect that even if TT does a version, some might hang onto their 3Ps, in particular, if the aesthetic fits "better" in your mind, for example, between TT Starscream vs. MT Starscream, or TT Grimlock and FT Grimlock. I think that those that have the 3P "set" are probably more likely to hang onto them, too, for the sake of cost (repurchasing the Dinobots?! Fuhgeddaboutit.).

I don't think G1 will ever be done in the 3P game. I mean, there are already a silly amount of MP-style 3P G1 Megatrons. I say silly because 1) I can only imagine there needing to be two (a release and then another company making one based on the feedback from the first one) and 2) I can't really tell them apart. There are small enough differences in each one that people are still buying them, and it's still cost-effective for these companies to continue making them.

The next thing I suppose is to make every character in the legends-class size/scale. Iron Factory is leading the way there, and I'm SO OK WITH IT.

I think the same figures will keep coming out G1 but different size scales these figs will get much bigger causing 4-5ft unicron and smaller figs like iron factory scale to also flourish jus look at the devistator scale war biggest wins than u got cartoon n toy tastes so 3rd party toys will keep putting out greatness and beastwars nah also easier transformations might change the game

Um, its already happening. Beast Was mps, big quality versions of non-g1 characters in general. Like, how is it not intensely obvious the more wrapped up the g1 stuff gets the more non-g1 stuff we'll see. That's the inevitable progression of the market and its already doing it. There is no "next" their is what is already happening more n more.

I mean I literally already have more non-g1 big figures than g1 big figures so my collection is practically futuristic already :lol

First, Skids. Then Runabout and Runamuck, who featured prominently in the G1 cartoon and the Marvel comic book but have seen no love.

Then, we go back and re-do all the ones that sucked with better ones, just like how Maketoys' Meteor is replacing the trash MP-11. Or, sure, you could use Chigurh or Sworder for your MP collection, but wouldn't you like a better Astrotrain and Sandstorm?

Finally, won't somebody please, please, give me an MP-style Fire Convoy?

More IDW characters, BW & BM, Unicron Trilogy, and even Animated. This is a pretty exhaustive franchise. 3rd Parties have barely touched most of it.

    Couple of things.
First - Please give more thought to the title when you create a new thread? "So whats next" does nothing to explain the purpose of the thread or what it is about. It's like a really bad form of click-bait as people either click on the thread to try and figure it out or they ignore it completely.
Second - BeastWar's IS very popular. You only have to look at the current MP Dinobot thread to see how much passion Beast War's fans have for that show. And if nothing else, Takara wouldn't be producing a third BW MP if the first two hadn't performed well. And Perfect Effect are doing Season 3 stuff, while MMC has done some Voyager scale Beast Machines figures. But Takara has set the scale for new BW stuff and most 3P companies will stick to that.
Third - In terms of Third Parties - There's a whole crap tonne of stuff to do - IDW is probably the next big thing (or one of them) in the MP scale, as well as in the Voyager scale. I see plenty of calls from people wanting figures from Prime, Animated, WFC/FOC and a bunch of other shows.
I think you'll actually find that many of those who have collected a 3P figure will keep it over the official. Even with those who prefer the official, many will still keep the 3P as an extra. But the day's when 3P fans saw those figures as stand-ins are long gone for many of us. Takara has dropped the ball quite badly with many of their recent releases and the confidence is no longer there, at least on the 3P side of the boards. Takara MP releases have to compete on a pretty level playing field with 3P fans. It's generally only with the Takara die-hards that the Takara bias is still so strong, The rest of us see them as only one of several options, and often not the best of those options.

Me personally, I would like it if the 3rd party companies branched out and tackled other toy lines. Such as My Little Pony. I would like masterpiece My Little Ponies to go with my Masterpiece Transformers.

Why would they have to be to scale?
It’s a different line of toys.
    Besides,
I can’t wrap my mind around this post.

To get a true MP BW at the current MP scale would be impossible. At best you could get highly detailed figurines. But no transformable masterpieces.

Why would BWMP’s have to be to scale with, say, MP-10 anyway? They are entirely different things. I mean, heck- the characters in the cartoon weren’t even to any proper scales. As a bee, Waspinator was enormous while as a T-Rex, Megatron was quite small.

As long as a company is making MP-style figures of toys I have loved (Car Robots Black Convoy) or coveted (Victory Leo/Saber) over the years, I'll be buying them.

They changed the MP scale in BW for obvious reasons... If Takara hadn't done that way, it would have been impossible...

All BW characters are in scale, the reason for Rattrap being huge was because there is "no mass shift" between his modes... His alt-mode was just for protection, the same for the dinosaurs and the like...
