HAHA!! Those @#$@* birds... What's funny is that I had been thinking the 2 cats could either knock it over or start batting the loose pegs around Unfortunately I had to take it down anyway. Turns out the top half of the actual sprite is moved over by 1 pixel from the bottom half, and it's not possible to connect the black pegboards together in that manner. So I had to balance one on the other, take the picture, and separate them again. I am thinking about making some enemies from that game...but maybe the birds would give people nightmares

Help. My boy inserted, from what the wife could tell, a piece of paper inside the game slot. The screws are propriety. Anyway I can try and get it out without the propriety screwdriver? Edit: now the wife got Mario stuck in there too. Might have to take it to a shop. Game’s out. Edit: paper and game are both stuck. Called up a local retro shop and was told he doesn’t have the propriety screwdriver but has some kind of metal hook to fish out the paper stuck inside. I really don’t feel comfortable about that.
Maybe you can use a pair of chopsticks. If don't have any, use a wire hanger and wrap the hook with some tape so us don't have any metal exposed to the contacts.
The brand I got: Hyper Tough: 21 piece cordless precision screwdriver set. 10$ CAD at WM. Another is a Masterctaft specialty bit set. Comes with 4 y wing size screwdrivers. Canadian tire of course. 20$ on sale I think. Not sure. I think it has everything you need to open up electronics. You the Y you need for the wii u. It even has a tri wing. I didn’t feel like doing this tonight. I really wanted to cook something nice instead. I’m feeling lucky. Maybe he inserted a 50 dollar bill. *rolleyes
Not lucky I guess... not even 5$ dollar bill. Found a chip, an MH and DQ game instead. Unit works perfectly. Not I just have to put it back together while I drink my beer.
The start of my build. The controller is based on the Sega Astro City cabinet control panel. The base is metal and the surface is wood with acrylic on top of the art. It currently have Jamma wiring to a Pandora Box 5 and a Raspberry Pi 3. I have also swapped the controls with Sanwa parts. My plans is to build a Astro City replica around it.
Well, I'm excited For a while, I've wanted to be able to play my older games (NES, Genesis, SNES, etc) off their original carts and I've been trying to choose how to do it; get a Retron, get an upscaler, get a cheap CRT TV, break down and buy a NES or SNES Classic... When we were at my parents' place for Thanksgiving, I discovered an older 24" non-widescreen flat-screen TV that wasn't being used anymore. I noticed it actually had S-Video inputs, which helped me deduce that it was probably capable of displaying lower resolutions that modern TVs can't. Since they weren't using it, my parents gladly let me have it. So last night I hooked up my old SNES, which hasn't been turned on in probably 20 years. The red light came on, but nothing happened at first, no picture or sound...until I jiggled the composite connectors (which even back in the day were loose and didn't work well) and up came the title screen for Clue! Proving the TV could display that resolution, and that my SNES still works after being in my parents' mildewy basement for 2 decades. Still no sound though... I figured it might be the loose composite cables, so I grabbed my Saturn and tried it instead. The Night Warriors title screen popped up perfectly, but still no sound. Apparently the built-in speakers don't work, which I was really irritated about...until I found a headphone jack on the front of the TV. I unplugged my headphones from my PC and plugged them into the TV...perfect! I even have some spare external PC speakers I can plug in there if I don't want the headphones. AND my Saturn still works too! I played Night Warriors for a bit, but I had to quit because it was already much later than my regular bedtime and I have to get up at 6 for work. Anyway, I'm excited about the possibilities, and I'll get to check if all my old game systems and carts still work
Nice! If it supports "240p" resolutions over the component inputs, you'll get a much cleaner picture over that even compared to s-video. Of course, getting all the right cables and convertors for that is easier said than done.
Remember Disney Afternoon back then? They have toys now including C&D rescue rangers. Can double as video game toys of course. Anyway, now we have three Disney Channels without a single good cartoon in their line up. Mostly it’s all teeny bopper shows. How is this representative of Disney? Sorry don’t know where else to put this.

Good to see them available again, especially Pinball as I played the shit out of that Android demo table without ever getting round to buying the full game. On the topic of old PC games, need to stock up on some more adventures as SCUMMVM is adding support for the last few years of Sierra games soon. Finally going to get round to playing Gabriel Knight and getting more then an hour into that Myst-style Rendezvous with Rama game.
