How is the Hasbro Asia release compared to the original Hasbro TRU exclusive release?

Hello all! I just joined. I was on the hunt for an MP-10...for years now haha. I finally decided to splurge and grab one. TRU was having a sale, so I got him for around $140. Box was good, just a little compression issue on one corner. I dont care though, I am not going for MINT stuff here.

Paint looks fine, just some tiny issues on the cab lights really. No biggie. I have pictures of the chest, and of the back pack issue/solution, but I cant post them. I think I need more posts?

Ok lets see if my pics will show up now. EDIT: HOLY CRAP sorry for the big pictures!! Im used to just using tags and not having to resize. But at least you can see the spots close up....? :)

I just wanted to comment on some of the condition issues. I wasnt even going to take him out of the box right away, but after reading all the threads, I couldnt resist. First...I LOVE it. I mean, come on. This guy is iconic, and the engineering that went into this is great. That being said, its still a TOY. If you want scale/accurate/quality replica type stuff, you will certainly pay more, and it might not transform. Even the Takara versions have their issues.

Issue 1...the chest. My matrix was in fact installed in the box, with the large opening facing out. I flipped it around. It didnt seem to fit as nicely in the chamber, BUT, the chest closed nicely. There is a tiny gap, but its 100% acceptable in my opinion. (Keep in mind the last Prime I owned was G1 original as a kid :)  )

Note: I find the void in his belt area WAY more annoying than the tiny gap in the chest. Mine seems oddly shaped, and almost looks broken. In fact I googled images to make sure mine wasnt busted. Any fix for this?

Issue 2 is the backpack not closing. This is in fact an issue with mine. But I think I have a solution and an actual cause. If you fit the gun into his back, you will find that it fits perfect. But notice how high the butt of the rifle is on his back...

Now, if you put it in the back pack, and close it, notice the position of the rifle butt.

Whats happening is, the gun wants to sit higher, and the back pack is forcing it to fit lower. The deciding factor are these two little support ribs. They interact with the taper on the rear part of the barrel, circled in red.

I believe, and its just a theory because I havent tried, that if you carefully file down that upper support rib, the gun will be able to sit lower, and the back pack will close. I plan to actually taper that rib to match the taper on the barrel. I have zero issue modifying this area since its completely hidden in both modes.

This is just a tough thing to engineer. Since any variation in the hinge/backpack mold, OR the support rib, OR the rifle can cause it to go out of whack. I appreciate the design of hiding the gun back there though...amazing weapons storage, again, in my opinion.

Sorry if these solutions have been talked about. I breezed the thread and didnt see it, and there were pretty recent posts about the problems.

Belt gap...? Not sure what you're referring to.

Oh. Yeah, they're all like that. If there is a fix, I've never tried looking for it...and it's not something I'd attempt since it's a non-issue for me.

Yeah I noticed that they all have it. Kind of strange, not sure why they had to leave it void. If I can get behind it, I'm going to put some silver plastic to fill it in. At least minimize it. Other than that I think the figure is amazing.

Is there any difference between this and the original Hasbro MP-10?
