    Dinobot unknown?
Whatever Dinobot did in Beast Wars is what made him known to the fans.
    So Dinobot is not unknown.

BUT ... it's not enough to earn him a name other than .... Dinobot.

It's like calling each of the Autobots .... Autobot.

Or maybe the writers were just darn lazy.

He can't deal with that right now! :p

He can be yours for under $200. It's not so much his size, it's the simpler tooling that keeps his cost down. MP BW Dinobot is considerably higher due to his parts count and tooling complexity. Even more so than MP-36 Megatron. In addition, MP BW Dinobot has a more complicated color scheme, which also adds to the cost. As for MP BW Megatron, I think he'll be more in line to around $219-229 USD range because:

    - He has a much simpler transformation
    - Simpler color palette compared to BW Dinobot
    - Does not require nearly as complicated tooling.

At worst, they may price him at the same rate as MP BW Dinobot to perhaps account for his size and whatever accessories they decide to throw in. They may also add light up eyes like they did with Primal.

Now there's a scary thought! :lol

That would be an awesome variant we will never see. :D

I hope someone takes apart sunstreaker, megatron, dinobot, and one of the older molds so we actually have some concrete evidence supporting or denying all these statements thaf I keep hearing re: parts count

Thanks for the info. However it's not the retailer's taxing policy I need to worry about, it happens once it gets here in old blightly. The retailer fills in a customs slip that is stuck on the front of the box declaring what is inside, its weight, value and purpose. Once it gets to the UK this is checked by HMRC and if over a certain value they will hold the package and issue a customs charge to the recipient. The recipient then need to pay this before the parcel will be released to them. I tend to go with Anime Export (and have once again) because they 'under declare' the value and post in unbranded boxes and therefore 90% slip through customs but it's always a risk.

So with that logic, if I saved the world and history itself from total destruction, I should get a name change?

"Hi I used to be called this, but when I saved the world, I got a name change because my name would not be up to par for a hero's identity as it was too generic/pathetic/lame."

Dinobot is his name, why would he need to change it?

I always liked to imagine the name Dinobot was handed down generation to generation after the Great War in memory of the powerful warriors whose team bore that collective name, as though whoever carried it was the greatest or most honorable of all warriors. (Even if they weren't always on the right side, necessarily.)

I like to think any transformer who has an ancestrial link to the original 5 dinobots would be called dinobot and the reason why dinobot has honour even though he's a pred is 'cause it's like a "genetic code" that runs through all the transformers who had the g1 dinobots as their ancestors since the dinobots(and most autobots) had honour to a certain extent.

Or with your theory, the name is given to any warrior who is worthy of the title, and doesn't "fight dirty" which are criterias that dinobot fulfils.

With beast wars, there can be millions of theories and it still wouldn't be enough.

    An excerpt from Transformers: Honour.

    Page 7:

    Panel 1:

The figure turned from the cabinet, holding a sword.

Shadow: The Dinobots were an insubordinate force of nature. But when focused on an objective, they had the power to change history.

    Link PNL:
Do you think yourself worthy of such a name?

    Panel 2:

An angle from behind the figure. He walks back towards the centre of the room. Dinobot is again in the background on the stairs.

Shadow: A Predacon… with the name Dinobot. Grimlock would have disapproved-

    Panel 3:

The figure buries the tip of the sword into the floor of the room.

Dialogue PNL: -and then torn you limb from limb.

    SFX: Shhng

    Panel 4:

From behind Dinobot on the stairs, we look down at the figure standing in the centre of the room.

    Dinobot: Who are you?

Shadow: I am an empty shell.

    Panel 5:

A close-up of the cloaked face. Under it we can see a metallic wolf-like jaw.

Shadow: But you may call me Shadow.

Nippon-Yasan will also declare whatever you tell them to and post in unbranded boxes with a natural person sender.

I just hope TT doesn't take as long to release MP BW Megatron as they are with MP BW Dinobot...

Since it's relevant, I will just add for completion's sake that none of the previously mentioned stuff works with German customs as they will just hold the package, force you to come pick it up with an actual bill and then calculate your fees locally.

Some countries might not be this strict but trying previously mentioned methods here will not work. At least not on Masterpiece Transformers, I got lucky once or twice with very small figures, but even then it won't work consistently.

So my recommendation for German collectors: Buckle up, pay the fees, you can't cheat the system. Might as well order from HLJ or another retailer that tapes the bill to the box so they can calculate the fees before forwarding it to you and the postman can charge you when he delivers the package. Saves you the hassle of driving to the customes office every time.

I haven't tested NY's trans-logistic shipping so I can't say anything about that but it sounds like you're paying fees in advance which should work out fine since it's all in the EU.

Good to know! I'll stick with AE for now but it's nice to know I have options.

    Ebay:
I managed to get away with it with TF-Direct and Robotoybase, plus a random Chinese seller on ebay. Somehow, fast delivery and no customs, despite boxes being large.

Yep, I used AE for a long time, but sometimes customs chrages hit me with them, and since I've switched to NY that NEVER happened (I'm from Italy btw). You have to pay the VAT in advance and that's it. Basically they ship the items to a logistic partner located in France, and from there they'll RE-ship it to the final destination.
If someday you'll give them a try, let us know how that worked out :)

Then I may have an issue with my local office being strict or they caught on to me as someone who imports a lot? I don't know.

But I'm sure that I can't cheat it at this point no matter what I try so I have adjusted to paying import fees by now.
