If only we could have gotten a consistent vehicle scale of 1:24, 1:29, or 1:32 from all our MPs. I think scale is our 3 3/4" vs 6".

the MP Deluxe Cars are pretty much 1:32-ish (1:30 - 1:35 AFAIR), which looks fine with Alternity

And it says they'll have a booth to so... if it's true, they're probably showing something, even if we don't know what yet. :D

MP12+, Dinobot, and Sunstreaker for sure. Maybe a resin for a new G1 mold? What time of year were Hot Rod and Shockwave first revealed? IIRC they were both total surprises and ended up being released not too long after they were first revealed

Could you link to the post you made with the full run down of release dates and announcement dates? I tried to look from the post from your profile but I can’t see your profile because you restricted it ;)

I didn't include announcement dates in it, and it was only pertaining to G1 molds, since it was in response to suggestions that BW and MPM might be throwing off/slowing own G1 mold releases, and I wanted to analyze whether that was the case or not.

But I can post it here too for reference's sake if it's useful. :D

Basically my conclusion was: Average G1 release pace before BW: 2.85 months. Average after BW: 2.42 months. Average gap in months between NEW G1 molds BEFORE BW: 4.15 months. Average gap in months between NEW G1 molds AFTER BW started: 6.25.

And that the last long drought between new G1 molds (like the one we just had, 8 months between the previous new mold and Sunstreaker's release date) it was followed by 2016, which saw 4 new G1 molds + MP Primal. Hence why I suspect 2018 could be a big year too, even with MPM and BW.

Cool, thanks. Hmm, I could have sworn someone made a post that I read a few days ago calculating the difference between release dates and announcement dates

I'm sure someone must have by now given the passion and resourcefulness of this community so I don't doubt it lol. It would be fun to try and track down all the announcement threads for different MPs and then compare them to the above list. Hmm. Need coffee then maybe I'll try if no one else posts before then doing the same :lol

Did someone say... announcement dates?? :D

Okay, I think these are correct, based on researching when threads were started. But I would welcome corrections, additions, revisions, clarifications... this is very probably incomplete.

Awesome list! Truly epic. Must've taken a lot of work, man. We should have a resource for these somwhere.

    You could add:

February 28th 2014: Bumblebee silhouette teased on Hasui's twitter

Also the tease of Wheeljack through Figure King is actually a silhouette of his character card art:

With a silhouette of the actual figure coming from Hasui's twitter on December 31st 2014:

But the reveal of Magnus was also just a silhouette of his character art (butt flap removed, no less):

So at this point I'm just splitting hairs :lol

Could also mention the fact that Wheeljack and Bumblebee were leaked in like June/July 2013? And Magnus in September(?) 2013, all by BBTS? Those were definitely exceptional reveals though. And man, that was a hell of a wait for Wheeljack!

I skimmed through the Sunstreaker magazine spread the other day.. all pretty much info we already know however I found it interesting that it was
Mr Yuki Ohshima who drafted the character model for MP39 Sunstreaker, the same artist/modeller that did the modelling for MP 36 Megatron.

It appears he may be doing the character models for the G1 line for the foreseeable future. Megatron & Sunstreaker are lightyears ahead of previous figures in articulation so this is a positive thing.

That’s very cool! Ohshima is welcome to be the MP modeller for a long, long time as far as I’m concerned.
