So where's the best place to preorder MP Chopperface? Anime export or amiami/HLJ/Amazon JP?

@Swoop Take with pinch of salt as I only have direct experience with Amazon JP and HLJ personally, hopefully someone else can answer you.

A lot of people swear by Amazon JP if you can get lucky and grab it while it's up and shipping to your location. They tend to price match (price goes down) and the price for shipped is usually VERY low compared to everyone else. And no payment until it's ready to ship. Downside: no service in terms of replacements parts if something goes wrong.

AE and AmiAmi both also have great discounted prices, but I don't know first hand if you have to pay up front or at time of shipment or what. Or what their cancellation policy is like. Lots of people swear by them too, though. Downside: Some say their customer service is iffy to nonexistent. (And the other factors I'm not sure of but someone else can clarify I'm sure.)

HLJ has discounts, but not as deep as AE or Amazon JP. They do however have good customer service, and very easy cancellation, with no payment due until shipping. I personally go with them for that combination since those factors all matter to me (being able to cancel, no up front payment, and customer service reliability.) Very rarely, some have reported that they take preorders for items that they get too few of to fulfill in the first run, though. So there's that. (Haven't ever had it happen myself, but have seen it happen.) My experiences with them have always been extremely smooth and issue-free, so I go with them myself. But you definitely won't pay the least with them, even if it's still discounted relative to MSRP. So major downside for them: not the best discount you can get.

I'm sure it's been talked about before, but I wonder if they can make the Android raptor from the beast wars 2? Or whatever it's called..

Looking at MP Dinobot now and wondering how feasible a Thrustor remold would be with the added tech parts and the head blade. I hope it's still a possibility but I'd be more than happy if they do Grimlock and stop there.

Got Dinobot preordered at Amazon Japan. Still hard pressed to justify paying that much for him as good as he looks.

I'm not sure how viable it is because Thrustor has a lot of extra molded detail that could collide with the way the toy transforms.

Random thought of the day (inspired by the apparent - not officially confirmed technically, but implied by the interview in the new Generations magazine - hint that BW Megatron is coming at some point in MP form for sure):

This has never really occurred to me before now for some reason, probably just because it's always been normal to me and how I've always known these characters. But when you really think about it, for being the first official western followup to G1, having the lead antagonist named Megatron be a melodramatic lavender T-rex, with what look like futuristic space high heels, and a tail and dinosaur head for hands... AND be several times larger than the protagonist leader...

    ... who is a gorilla...

... and also not even the largest member of his (said gorilla's) faction...

... was ballsy as hell. And incredibly epic. :lol

Just nabbed an Uprising Transmutate for $17 +shipping. Really hyped, because I need a Transmutate and I've always wanted that Arcee mold.

Well, yeah. That's pretty much a given Beast Megatron will be receiving the MP treatment at some point. Likely waiting for MP-36 Megatron to run his course.

I can't wait for the hype and the complaints of him being "too expensive" to start! :lol

Maybe just to hold 3 mil accessories? Not sure, there were a few of em at the time.

Hey, so i was having a conversation with a friend that got me curious. How would you guys compare Beast Wars and Prime from writing perspectives? Obviously production quality kinda can't be compared due to age, but I'm curious what you all think of the stories and casts.

Honestly? In terms of attachment to characters? I preferred beast wars. There was something about how the writers wrote the characters that made me feel like I could connect to them. Prime had it's moments, but I didn't tear up when anyone died or had near fatal injuries
optimus died like twice, bulkhead couldn't walk for a solid few episodes etc

I teared up when dinobot died, and that was the only moment in television history for me that I actually felt sad for the characters that had to deal with his death, aka the maximal crew.

But in terms of story, i'd say prime's better overall. Beast wars only really started gaining momentum at the last quarter of season 1, lost that momentum, started gaining again after 6(?) episodes into season 2(story wise not character development wise) and then season 3 was something else entitely.Season 3 was kinda like the beast hunters season(3) for prime.

Prime started off quite strong tbh, with the 5 parter and introducing dark energon etc etc and then continued on(granted there were filler episodes such as "speed metal").There's good character devolopment in prime don't get me wrong but it wasn't strong enough for me to really get all sad over tragic moments. I did exclaim multiple "oh no"s however. Anyway I digress. The second half of prime was when everything started to kick off with the likes of unicron's blood and so on and they never really did lose that momentum until the second half of season 2 with "thirst"(which was an interesting concept of how the dark energon affects bots). And season 3 was awesome, dwindled after the grand opening 2/3 parter and then got back its momentum shortly after, with the best finale of all TF history(If you haven't watched prime already, just watch "deadlock"(I believe that's either the title of the second to last or the final episode)(I won't spoil anything just go watch). You'd be blown away with what they did. And don't I forget the movie "predacon's rising" which was pretty amazing.

The only reason why I resented prime in a way was 'cause it was brought to a sudden conclusion and then changed to a "sequel" show that had such a drastically different artstyle and storytelling(granted rid did get a lot better towards the end of its run)

So in conclusion, prime is "better" in terms of story; but beast wars is a "better" show in general dur to its really strong characters and their chemistry with each other(kudos to the voice actors/actresses)

That's just my long ass opinion anyway

without the spaces on the first one

    text

this is what it looks like without the spaces

Also yeah, I agree that BW kinda just had more impactful characters, though it did have some faults with story momentum.
