If I were to spend that much money on a statue, I'd want the details to be on point. The lack of glowing autobot symbols on his shoulders/biceps is a deal breaker... but I can't afford to get this statue.

The proportions are fantastic and give a real stoic and powerful aura. Wish there was some glowing things, at least the autobot symbol or some of those glowing lines (power conduits?).

Man, why can't I get one of these amazing statues at 1/10 the size and price?

Transformers should transform so no thank you. For that price it better transform and roll out to the fridge and fetch me a beer. Theres always that one guy at the end of the rainbow who is willing to buy these things. But I dont see this statue collecting trend lasting too long. These artists are going to try to bring out the completionest in every statue collector and one by one they will tap out at those price$...

Why cant different people like and value things differently? I am pretty sure you are wrong and there is a market for these things. You have this new contender, imaginarium art, xm studios, prime 1 studios all going deep on TFs. Prime 1s bayformer statues regularly sell out at 2k/pop for larger statues. People that have money and want it are not tapping out at the price.

I hear you...but im old school. Transformers transform. Without transformation they aint s**t. I wouldn't even be a collector if they didnt transform. I dont do joes, star wars, or any of that action figure stuff. Ever since I was a kid, I saw transformers as an "alternative" because they were 2 toys in one if not more. Thats what makes them cool. Now some 3rd parties want to take away their playability and turn them into expensive art for yuppies. Hey maybe youre that guy at the end of the rainbow thats looking for a $2000 statue of Maketoys Giant. Honestly, I dont think more than 10 people on this planet fit that criteria. Thats my opinion.

You can have your likes and opinions all you want, when a $2000 statue has an edition size of 500-1000 and sells out...and then jumps in price on the secondary market, then the numbers beg to differ with you. If you can argue with sales figures then good on ya. Its like trying to argue that only 10 people like brusselsprouts because you dont.

I hope you never find out about the $5-6k jetfite optimus that prime one is developing.

    Brusselsprouts dont cost $2000.

If you told me they were doing a run off 50-100 id probally believe you. But 500-1000 ???

Do the math...at $2000 a pop 500 is 1 million dollars worth of statues. 1000 is 2 million dollars worth of statues.

Even Takaras Grand Maximus couldnt hit 3000 preorders to unlock the free pretender homage and those cost under $300. Thats worldwide dude. (Counting BBTS and TFsource preorders on what they are willing to potentially get stuck with if people cancel) That should give you a rough idea of the number of hardcore Transformers fans worldwide willing to spend big bucks on niche items. Now take that that price and multiply it times 8 and watch the number of potential buyers drop. Theyll be lucky if they can sell 50 of those things. Especially when they chose to homage Maketoys Giant instead of G1 Devastator knowing the fandom is split 50/50 on the "Intellectual Property" debate.

I dont know what to tell you. Exchange brusselssprouts for any hobby that requires money that you personally believe is excessive and doesnt cater to you exclusively.

Transformers Lockdown Polystone Statue by Prime 1 Studio

Es 500, sold out, and it was for lockdown, $1600. That is for the exclusive version. The ordinary version is a higher es and waitlisted at sideshow. Again believe what you want, but there isnt much more to be gained from this conversation since you are ignoring facts.

Edit: I know nothing about imaginarium art which is making the maketoys devastator statue. But their soundwave was limited to 200 from bbts and the po is sold out.

So how come this is in News & Rumors instead of 3rd Party, when it seems unlicenced?
