I had this figure when it first came out and sadly had to sell it due to some financials finches. Easily the biggest regret from this hobby. I now have a possible chance to own him again for a very reasonable price. But it will lack the lights and the face tank head. Is it at all possible to contact Planet X to be able to purchase those at all? I highly doubt it but some companies have in the past. It won't be a huge loss without those but it would be nice to at least have his face.

PX can be tad troublesome to get of hold of directly, however, I have been able to loosely contact them via Facebook Messenger.

You may also want to try contacting Robot Kingdom. They seem to be PX's main retailer in Asia. Worse they can say is they don't have the parts.

They've always replied to my Facebook messages and comments, but it usually took a few days. You could try that. Planet X

Perfect timing or a great sign. But Robotkingdom actually has the head still available. So I went ahead and just bought it. So happy to finally have this thing again. It's THE figure that really sparked my collecting all those years back.

So necroing this thread a little, I'm interested in getting Genesis at some point in the (hopefully) near future and was wondering if there was more info on the reissue.
I'm still a bit confused about which ones come with the head tank and lights, and which ones don't.

I had a brief look through the thread - can someone please help me get the facts straight?
It seems that Genesis comes with five lights and a head tank which is gold/translucent blue on the original and silver/translucent red on the reissue.
On top of that, @NOCV mentioned ordering the "no head tank" version from BBTS (the only one they still have) but getting the head tank, lights and tighter joints. So... does the BBTS listing include the head tank or not? Are the joints actually tighter (or perhaps some things less prone to breaking) on the reissue?

Ultimately, I'm trying to work out if one of the versions is better quality than the other. I don't really care too much about the colour of the head tank but I do want it included. Since there haven't been many comments on the reissue, I'm not sure how it compares to the original in terms of quality.

So far the only differences I know about the original Genesis and the reissue is the newer head. Other than this, both versions are just as sturdy, have the same tight ratchets, and come with the same # of lights. Regarding BBTS, cannot say. Sometimes vendors do stuff differently.

I have the original release and have yet to witness any ratchet degradation.

Unless Planet X tinkered with it more, the no head one at bbts is the one you want. It has the improved joints over the original BUT

The joints, especially in the legs, end up pretty weak. In the time since my son got his, he's gotten much harder to stand in any pose that doesn't have his legs all but straight and directly beneath him.

Unfortunately it's a very top-heavy design that's underwhelming in size.

So it does come with the head tank after all? At least, yours did, using that same link you posted? Sorry, just trying to make sure.
Also, what was improved with the joints? Just tighter, or actually redesigned?

Yep. The one we got from that link included the lights, a tank with a face head, and a tank with a faceless head.

Planet X (sorry, I said DX9 before. Xs..) improved the tightness and strength of the joints after the initial run. It's discussed earlier in this thread in more detail, I believe. His arm joints are good, it's just that the leg ones have a hard time with the weight of his upper-body.

Keep in mind that I say all of this after about a year or so of an 8/9 yr old playing with it. I'd have no problem buying it for displaying, as I did with PX's Trypticon/Apocalypse.

Hmm, interesting, dunno why they list it like that then. Thanks for all the info though. Much appreciated. (And to everyone else for your input too).

Does anyone have a picture of Genesis with a CW Combiner that has a dreamwave upgrade kit? I wanted this figure for sometime and while I am getting him regardless I'd like to see how that scale works. Or even better if you have him next to the downsized titan Devi.

Well, the re-release solves my "Oh right, I forgot to get this guy when he was still in stock, now what" quandary. Already snagged Gammadim and Trypticon, so I'll be all set on the PX big boys now.
