Here's one. I actually think a case could be made for any one of the films being the best of the lot. I'm serious. I'll make a case for each one right now.

The 2007 movie isn't the king of Cybertronian characterization or interaction, but I'd argue argue it is the best film in terms of how the Transformers are robots in disguise that can hide anywhere. It also mocks chronic douchebaggery in the form of Megan Fox's boyfriend and Sector 7's hilarious Seymour Simmons and depicts the awe of seeing alien beings come to Earth for the first time.

RotF is the king of geographical continuity errors...but I'd argue it's the best of the films at being a fun, goofy romp perfectly within the nature of the brand, which is what it's trying to be. With Jetfire changing sides, the barren wasteland background of the second half of the film, and the appearance of Soundwave and Constructicons, and plenty of Megatron-Starscream banter, the sun almost getting destroyed as in "Changing Gears, " RotF is also a love tribute to the earlier episodes of the cartoon. Also, Blenderbot.

Dark of the Moon is undoubtedly the best film in terms of being a war story between the two rival factions and how that has affected Cybertron, with Sentinel Prime being a living personification of the planet itself. Sentinel's fall from grace parallels the decline of Cybertron into tyranny, conflict, and death.

Age of Extinction is the best film in terms of depicting Transformers as sapient, sentient beings struggling to cope with a dangerous universe (just like humans), and within all of the rough-around-the edges characters both robot and human there is good inside. It's also about how beings both extraterrestrial and terrestrial attempt to control things and ultimately fail. It's also a tribute to the Season 3 era of Transformers and all of the weird and wacky science fiction fantasy in the brand over the years.

The Last Knight is the best film at depicting how life on Earth is Hell. Since the Transformers have arrived, humans and Cybertronians have had an endless spell of bad luck. Izzy loses her family and homes (including Canopy); the Transformers are refugees, dead, or prisoners, and there are no-go quarantine zones where humans and Cybertronians alike are fair game; Megatron wants nothing more than to restore Cybertron and literally calls Earth "Hell," and even the planet itself is the ultimate evil in Transformers fiction. The Transformers arriving in their meteor modes in three of the five films are like angels falling from Heaven after being cast out.

    Pick your poison I say!

Because they talk and you know that apes don't talk. That's the quintessence of "problem" with CGI or any other special effect. No matter how well it is done, you will always know it's fake because those things does not exist. But I have no problem with it. I never had a problem with CGI because I am always fully immersed into movies I love and I don't care if they are not real.

Well guess I succeeded in having a unpopular opinion. Anyway not that Carly was oscar material, but just she didn't annoy me and there wasn't any cringe which is a very good thing for a first time acting role... from a model

Thats where I disagree. Her constant slightly parted lips and model type expressions were cringey. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I just can't take it seriously.

    Some quick examples from Google.

It's attractive in a supermodel-ey kinda way, but it bothers me how often she does it. A lot of her scenes have her with the same slightly parted lips and almost a blank expression. Thats what I don't like, I wish she had used more range in her facial expressions.

I think a reboot is a horrible idea, and it has nothing to do with quality.

A reboot, whether good or bad, would most likely be the same overused robots and stories all over again. The same popular Autobots and Decepticons coming to Earth and fighting over Energon or something. An Autobot, Bee or otherwise, becoming close friends with the humans. Starscream hatching some scheme yet again. Shockwave with some experiment or his own logical motives. Soundwave doing some espionage and ejecting some minions of his yet again. Ratchet as a medic yet again. I am glad we got some movies at least where we moved beyond such overused characters. Hopefully we get at least some future movies that actually use some underused or brand new characters.

    1) DOTM's first act is boring.
    2) I like AOE more than DOTM

I agree. In fact, while I still stand by my earlier post that an argument can be made for any single one of the films being best, I'd say AoE is my favorite and does many things right that none of the other films did right.

Furthermore, I think all of the things that are supposedly "worse" about AoE than the first trilogy are really just "different;" if you ask me, the differences actually made for a somewhat better Transformers film. The score, CGI, editing, etc., are really on the same level as the first three. I'd say it has the best story out of the films along with Dark of the Moon, and it's the best at depicting the robots as characters. Sure, the designs of the robots are different, which I think annoyed fans of earlier designs, but the quality put into them was no less. Some things, such as the clarity of the action, the movement of the robots, and the voice acting, are much, much improved. It's less traditional in some ways and takes fans more out of their comfort zones, especially if they grew up on the first two G1 seasons and the first three movies, but it's certainly not an inferior product to its predecessors. Like I said, I'd pick it as the best TF movie.

I have an appreciation for Bumblebee's radio talk even though it's nice to also have a Bumblebee that talks normally also. I think it's cooler than the beeps that TFP Bumblebee had done in the past.

I just like guessing where the clip comes from.

"If there's anything you need. I won't be far away." And I go, "Oh that's the line from Forrest Gump."

I thought their interpretation worked really well, but if it were up to me, I'd have kept them out of the film. They were totally hamfisted in.
