So I read the comics off and on for a few years and recently I've been able to keep up with the month to month stuff. I was reading Til All Are One until they ended it and I picked up Lost Light when they relaunched that comic. However I really don't know what's going on in the larger IDW universe and I can't read the Optimus Prime book because I really don't like the art style. I was just wondering if there is a website that I could go to that would give me a better idea of what's going on in the larger IDW universe so I can get a better footing and maybe add a few titles to my pull list?

You have alternate facts that contradict the entire cartoon series being about GI Joe against COBRA?

Why don't you check the episode guide?

List of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero episodes - Wikipedia

Every single episode with ZERO EXCEPTIONS is GI Joe versus COBRA. Does that help clear up all your question marks?

All the non-fans have ideas about what they think GI Joe is.

Holy shit, you are HILARIOUSLY dense. I put two quotes - one from Daniel saying "the Hasbro Universe GI Joe books are about them vs Cobra" and one from you saying "well you're wrong because GI Joe should always be about them vs Cobra" - RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER and you still think I'm questioning what GI Joe "should" be?

Who cares what Joe fans want? G.I. Joe has unchangingly been "what Joe fans want" for years, and it's all but dead. So either accept that G.I. Joe must change, or accept that G.I. Joe must die.

Yeah, the "endless failed relaunches, changes of directions, and dismal sales." Could just as well be used to show that existing G.I. Joe Fans are either not interested enough or numerous enough to actually support a non-Hama title, regardless of style, concept or execution.

I was a classic G.I Joe comic fan. Due to the new Hasbro Universe I started reading the new IDW reboot. I liked the darker and more serious tone of the story. Now after the Revolution event, G.I Joe came back more colorful and cheerful.... it reminds me the old cartoon which is not bad. So far I have fun with the new G.I Joe and Skywarp/Rock N' Roll combo rules.

Did anyone else notice how Unicron's awakening is very similar, if not inspired by how Dreamwave's awakening of Unicron was? A transmission sent out into the far reaches of space triggering an activation response from a dormant Chaos Bringer.....

It’s similar to Primal Scream from the original G1 comics as well.

Really, what I want to see is a "Barberts" take on GI Joe - something that embraces the sci-fi camp and goofiness while not being afraid to go a bit darker and have proper stakes. Sitterson Joe hasn't really had much of the latter since the Revolution one shot.

    I’m in a similar category.

I’d like the Joes to be portrayed as a military unit, that has to deal with the returned threat of Cobra, while also having to occasionally deal with something sci-fi and unworldly. With the tone being serious, but with a touch of fun. Like the MCU.

I want to the Joes to resemble NEST or the TRF.

This whole goofy superhero angle isn’t doing quite doing it for me, it’s too distracting from the narrative.

And I wouldn’t object to Scott or Rodriguez writing the comic instead. Cause Scott did a great job in First Strike, IMO.

Just because something's always been doesn't mean it always should be. Especially since the series is called "G.I. Joe", not "G.I. Joe VS Literally Only Ever Cobra". Cobra wasn't even always a thing, G.I. Joe used to be one man. So really, if you're gonna get all Geewun, Cobra shouldn't exist.

Paramount stopped cooperating with licensees after DOTM, meaning that they can't get scripts ahead of time in order to write comics. An IDW staffer mentioned on Tumblr ages back that Hasbro and IDW both wanted to keep doing movie comics, but the studio shut them out.

Paramount...eh. Man, if it wasn't for Dreamworks Animation and the Mission Impossible series, I'd Monkey's Paw their existence away in the most horrible way possible and even then, I'm getting close to writing that all off as collateral damage for what needs to happen to free the various franchises they own from their clutches.

Yeah was going to say that. A stray shot hits primus causing him to scream which the big guy hears.

There's nothing new under the sun or so they say.

I dunno why I never noticed this before... does Unicron's planet mode from the front kinda look like a matrix?

It always kinda has, though I’m not entirelt sure if was intentional when Floro Derey was designing them.
