You know what they say about city bots with huge feet, right? ;)

    They wear big shoes.

I'll wait until I've seen the first couple of episodes. It could be okay Continuity wise the last series didn't match with IDW and I don't expect this to match up either

    We will see....

While his inclusion is odd, I'm a big Metroplex fan so it looks nice. If I still had a smartphone I'd probably use it as a wallpaper. :)

This will be its own continuity. Yeah they will slap titan returns on it and feature those designs but as I said in earlier post its unlikely to fit with the idwverse at all.

His inclusion is odd? Trypticon was featured in this series' ad copy as one of the first images. Having a series with Trypticon in it that doesn't also have Metroplex is borderline sacrilege.

All jokes aside, who would Trypticon fight? Aside from Windblade "I One Shot Combiners" of Caminus.

Can’t wait to see your serial animated series! I’m sure it will contain a much better sense of scale and proportion.

For good measure, when you are ready to release it please make sure we all get the chance to make blanket judgements based off of a single promotional image, just so we get the full comparison between yours and Machinima’s, k?

    Thanks a million!

I'm cautiously optimistic about this series but I haven't forgotten how generally awful the previous one was.

You don't need to be an animator to know when animation is bad. As Jim Sterling says "Unlike these people, I know when I can't do something, so I don't then do it anyway" also you realize this is a sequel right? We've seen Machinima's capability when it comes to tf, and it leaves it a hell of a lot to be desired.

...by that logic, none of us should be discussing/critiquing it.

There are web shows that look better than CW/TR. And those that may not be as...complicatedly animated, but certainly have better writing and are more entertaining.

The stop-motion promotional material had better animation and writing- and it was just fighting with no dialogue! Not to mention was actual Combiner Wars and did a good job selling the product. (I seriously want Victorion after seeing a bit of it. No joke.)

My fondest memories of transformers as a child was the toy comercials. The franchise has done many things to sell their products throughout the years. Keep in mind that is the first priority. To sell toys. Trying to push a complicated story would for sure hinder that process. The coolest part would be lost on kids of any generation. Try and keep that in mind when viewing this series. In my opinion, and i am sure it does not matter, this is an excellent way to push their toys and still leaving enough room for kids of all ages to use their imagination and inspire future stories that can be presented in new and interesting ways. Please encourage rather than discourage. I would hate to see anyone involved in this stuff to just stop because of someones open discust of anything transformers related.

I'm just looking forward to something short and diverting to watch for the sheer hell of it. They're Machinima shorts. I don't expect full run animated series quality. And I like the art style, personally.

I think the reason it feels disappointing is because it's this weird in between thing, rather than a fully developed, well funded, substantive animated series, or just a commercial. It's neither extreme. It's this weird half step.

We basically want this, but with the budget and run time and planning of something like Prime (though personally I didn't enjoy Prime, I would have if it were this but with Prime's budget and other factors going for it in all likelihood.)

But it's not. It's a simple Machinima ... thing. I don't even know what to call it. It doesn't tie in timing wise with the toys being sold, so calling it an ad feels problematic. It isn't really a series in the traditional sense that comes to mind when seeing the word. It's just a ... thing. An in between short thing.

You know what? The closest analog I can think of is Star Wars Forces of Destiny. This is that, but less frequent, and more serialized. Bite sized little morsels meant to kill time and be fun, probably not aimed at a particularly mature audience, probably slightly oversold because marketing people never know how to play anything down, only play it up and hyperbolize it lol. So that's what I'm taking it as, and like Forces of Destiny and like CW before it, I expect I'll enjoy it for what it is, warts and all.

Sure thing! I'll keep you updated! Trust me, if you liked Combiner Wars, you'll like what I'm cooking up. Unfortunately I'm running low on construction paper and crayons, and my head writer just got put in his crib for a nap, so it may take a while. But honestly speaking, I think I've really captured the spirit and quality of Machnima's efforts. You can't even tell the difference. I've even managed to add a whole frame more per second! Trust me, if Combiner Wars was the "Game of Thrones" of animation, this is going to be "Breaking Bad!" Stay tuned!

    -S.L.

Well, the big difference is the toy actually looks good and detailed, and actually looks like it can move without its inflated limbs crashing into each other. Also, the only proportional difference between the two are that the Machnima model has giant forearms and feet. It's otherwise fairly faithful to the toy's build. The legs especially look goofily thin leading into huge block feet.
