What finally happens to his legs? They are restored, but how?

Did Ratchet fix it? At the end Optimus picks up what's left of the cube on megatron, did he use it to fix Bumblebee or something?

A few weeks ago before the movie was released somebody said it was explained in the script, is it true? And if yes, does anybody have a link to this script? I really wanna see how the movie was supposed to be without all the removals and editing.

Was explained in the novelization (IIRC, has been a while since I read it)...I think a mechanic fixed him or something.

so bb loses his legs at the knee, no probs we'll fix him but jazz was ripped in two at the waist not far above and he's dead? why? I dont get it.

to paraphrase Daniel "Jazz...... you cant die sob/weep/cry"

    its just not fair :(

Robots have all that mecvhanical stuff that wires 'n' shit. Plus, factor in they're sentient transforming robots... I'd say BB losing his legs wasn't as bad as jazz losing everything (all that life support and spark-containment stuff) below his belly.

I imagine that the spark runs energy throughout the body, like the heart and blood. Getting ripped in half makes the energy "spill" and the transformers can no longer live. That, and things can live without legs, but can't live split in 2 at the waist. Remember that they can feel pain

You need half of your body to survive. Jazz's wound was a brutal one, while Bumblebee's was caused by explosives.

Thats exactly the case. When he takles on megatron, he is in perfect, flawless condition. he hadnt taken any damage yet. yeah, megatron steps on him, but that doesnt mess him up that badly. then he tears him in half. then the camera focuses on other stuff happening until prime shows up, which is when megatron finally tosses jazz aside. what was he doing that whole time? well, when we next see jazz, he is absolutely mangled. it looks like megatron kept tearing away at him after ripping him in half.

Another bunch of scenes cut from the movie but included in the novel. Megs ripped Jazz's spark out. No Spark + no repairs. Rachet could rebuild the body but there's no spark inside.
I suppose the one of the new TF's brought to life at the end of the movie could have their spark transplanted into jazz's repaired body.
According to the novel the Lockheed SkunkWorks had a hand in BB's repairs. A custom car shop or two as well.

In the script it says Megatron rips out Jazz's spark then tears him in half. They should have portrayed that on film to make it clearer. But still losing a limb or two is not as bad as being split in half.

How the hell...... I mean, you can't just go to a junk yard and weld regular old steel onto molecular shapeshifting alien alloys... How could earth people even comprehend BB's transformation, how the parts are able to move, and how would BB ever reformat?

Wierd. I'd have liked it if they just used spare parts from the comets or something.

I wished they'd resolved BBs legs, just because it was such a traumatic scene (silly to say, but that's how it played). But I think it's safe to say that even if Lockheed or even bloody West Coast Customs helped out in some way, Ratchet with his knowledge of Autobot physiology and (presumably) toolkit (plus X-amount of months work) was able to perform the repairs.

If that still doesn't seem believable, there is that shard of AllSpark Prime had...

Who says they didn't? A "Skunkworks" is a largely autonomous division inside a company or organisation that can basically do whatever the hell they want. They work on "black projects" and advanced secret cutting edge stuff.
Lockheed's Skunkworks designed the SR-71 Blackbird, the U-2 spy plane, and the F-117 stealth fighter. Hardly a junk yard there. And don't forget that if they were involved it's logical to assume that Ratchet would have been working with them.
