    Anyone else remember these fondly?

Recently found there was an unreleased second wave of Mantech too.

They seem vaguely familiar to me. I suspect I saw the commercials back in the day. Never owned any to the best of my knowledge.

I remember those. Not fondly, though (I recall having the blue guy).

I believe when these came out in 1984, I was too busy getting into another brand-new new toy line that debuted the same year...

...something to do with robots turning into vehicles, jets, a gun, etc..

Made another 3d model of a gun. This is Solartech's Ion Trans Rifle. Got pretty close to the original. Can be printed as a 3mm weapon for GI Joe, 4mm for He-Man and Centurions hands, or 5mm for Transformers.

I loved these toys as a kid. Had all the fig and the base.
I now have re-collected all the figs, the base and 1 of the vehicles.

Seeing an unproduced second wave is quite thrilling.

Looking into Mantech more closely, i see Remco tried to sell the toys to stores promising an upcoming Hanna-Barbera TV project in fall 1984. I guess that show never developed.

Solartech in this ad also looks hand painted, and has silver weapons from other figures. Plus no hole in the top of his helmet? Must be a prototype.

The current state of my heroic Mantech forces. Lasertech and Aquatech are complete. Solartech is missing his head, small gun, right leg and right foot.

I actually never owned Aquatech as a kid. I had his rifle though because of the extra "Beta Weapons" that came with the battle station. Picked up the parts to build one pretty cheap from several parts lots on ebay.

Anyone else here own any Mantech?

Just curious but why are the legs modeled after Steel Jeeg/Baron Karza/Force Commander?

    Good eye there Mugen.

They actually just started life as Baron Karza recolors that I modeled in CAD, as and I customize each body part they become more Mantech looking. They are not complete and the legs are still being customized to be more Mantech-y, but I figured at this stage they are passable Mantechs with only some Baron Karza in them. My goal is to make them eventually be able to swap parts with Karza or other figures I designed freely, even be able to fit in the horse mold as centaurs!

There are many small things that could be improved. For instance the small backpack mounted gun on Solartech is simply a smokestack from my Optimus Prime figure painted black and being used as a gun! That could be better.

I will update them again once I get more Mantech looking legs.

See attachment for a picture of "Duke Destructo", my Baron Karza clone.

I had the green one as a kid. I had no idea what toy line he was from.

Here you go. Since Solartech REALLY did need his iconic legs, I redid his legs and waist to something more Solartech-y.

More images of the Solartech kids Halloween costume. I always thought it was stupid of costume companies to put a picture of the character and the name on the chest of the costume. No one ever made costumes that actually LOOKED like the chest of the character.

Just got a big lot of Remco Mantech figures in the mail. I didn't realize. C.K. had decided to put his initials on EVERY part before I bought them! Some parts have his initials 3 times!
