Despite intending to part ways with him to help recoup on completing the Clones in my preferred deco and getting a Metalhawk, I was totally won over by Tidal Wave in-hand but I felt he needed just a little something else to make his deco pop a bit more, and then my eyes turned to the metallc green I'd gotten in preparation for converting a Nitro Zeus to properly embody Thunderwing and... Yup, that'll do it!
looks good, though i wish i had been able to get this guy.i had wanted to do him in his armada toy colors
Wow, it's amazing how much this improves the figure, The first time I saw tidal wave as a kid it was the toy so when I think of the character I always think of that Colour scheme, and I think you captured a nice mix between that and the animation, Are you thinking about making the head green too??
I'm happy with the Deep Purple (and not just to pun on the band name). For my aesthetic I'm not keen on a shiny helmet, and I think adding another flat green would be too much variegation (at least to my eyes). Naw, he's going on a Nitro Zeus due similar treatment but also additional metallic blue.
It's Mr. Hobby Aqueous Hobby Color Metallic Green. I totally covered my Broadside's blaster in grey apart from the pegs but thought I'd maintain some lightpiping to differ Tidal Wave's, that the end result looks so swordfish-faced is a happy accident. I totally didn't see it until I'd got the first coat of paint on!
As requested: Whilst they're fine in boat mode, sadly there's no great place for the axes in Stratofortress (™ @Sol Fury, 2017 ) mode... And finally there are many fanmodes like it but this one is mine!
I don't claim to be the originator that's an amalgam of a couple of fanmodes I've seen with my own wee spin.
