BBTS and TFSource aren't the greatest when it comes to receiving, processing, and shipping out newly received items in a timely manner.

My Grinder was saddled with one of the incorrectly machined sets of replacement Soar thighs, so I had been making do without them. Finally got around to drilling out the pin holes and installing them this evening.

Man, it makes it so much less stressful to transform this guy when you don't have to tiptoe around that failure point. They never should have been chromed plastic in the first place, but props to F/T for owning up to the mistake.

Where would you guys place Soar on the scale of FT/PF dinobots?

Subjectively, Soar is my favorite one, but that's because Swoop has been my favorite Dinobot with Gridlock being second.

Objectively, I'm not really sure. For me, it's like picking between children as to which is your favorite offspring. I'd have to say from a design standpoint, Stomp wins. Grinder coming in second, with Sever and Swoop after that. I don't have Scoria or Cesium to comment on. That said, i think all the Dibots I've listed are excellent FT releases.

He’s right at the top. His alt mode is soooo nice!

All that lovely chrome and the great ptero head sculpt! And a flight stand!

    Love it

Not on this forum/thread. You send him a private PM or a "Conversation" as this website calls it. You can do it through his profile page.

He accepts payments thru paypal so yeah you'll need a Paypal account and you'll need to know his Paypal email address.

That'll be the best time to hit up Fanstoys for Soar accessories. They may have the gold die cast knee clips available now though.

The seller described the styrofoam clamshell as having never been opened, which would mean that s/he didn't actually see the figure itself. That *might* have been the case, or it could have been seller bullshit, who knows? Either way, the paint chip doesn't bother me in-hand. And I've definitely had paint QC problems on other figures that bothered me enough to pursue a replacement.

I don't own either Scoria or Cesium, so I can only comment on the four DiBots I have.

In terms of build quality, Grinder and Stomp are in a class of their own - they're probably the best-built, most rock solid transforming figures I've ever handled outside of the Soul of Chogokin line. Sever and Soar are older designs and feel a half step below Grinder/Stomp in terms of quality. I think a stock Soar is worse than Sever because no other DiBot suffers from a failure point like his chrome plastic thighs. Swapping those out for the diecast set, I think bumps him to the #3 slot on account of his smoother transformation. But lets be clear; all of these are quality figures and very much worth having.

Also, in terms of looks, (blue) Soar is gorgeous and by far the most striking on a shelf.

I'd probably put him at 2 or 3, after Stomp and possibly Grinder (with the new head). Soar just captures the character so incredibly well. And looks incredible posed in alt mode with the rest.

Preordered Blue Soar on TCP. I like TCP, they're really nice and try hard to make customers happy. But I'll keep ToyDojo in mind in case they don't have what I want in the future. :)  But yeah, TCP is #1 in my book now. BBTS used to be, but their shipping is so SLOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW now.

Grinder, Soar, then Stomp/Sever/Scoria. I think the detailing and sculpt of the first two are top notch, as are the transformations. The need for a replacement head? The knee thing? Yes, those are considerations, but the bot modes are impressive.

I don't think there's a bad one in the bunch. Well, unless you're stuck with Green Scoria.

I got my part for FT Stomp (Right chrome robot foot), but no Soar parts. I was afraid that would happen. :(  I repeated it in every email and every time it was yes, request completed, and package sent. Oh well. I guess my red Soar will have to enjoy his red chrome bits, then. Now to figure out how to replace Stomp's foot...

Have never really gotten into third party but seeming as the Dinobots (other than Grimlock) are doubtful for being made as a MP anytime soon and I have to get this Omega Supreme that is coming out was thinking about getting Slag, Sludge, Swoop and Snarl in the Fans Toys version and wanted to get thoughts on the best ones.

I think I want a Blue Soar and most likely FT-06 and FT-07 basic editions that are more G1 accurate I guess but I'm not sure which Slag to get.

Is Scoria better or this new Cesium that is coming out and what are the differences? Thanks for any help, time to form a Dinobot team finally.
