Wow, that interview... told us literally nothing we didn't already know.

Why did TFW put this in the news column?

Hasbro needs to learn what the hell a cinematic universe is.

Transformers is a series, just because we're getting a prequel focusing on Bee does not change that like..at all.

The MCU is multiple film franchises that all tie into eachother and crossover complete with big crossover events like Civil War or the Avengers films.

Agreed. What made the MCU work is that Marvel took their time. Over time the connections came together to make a cohesive universe. It wasn't like "HEY GUYS. We've had 4 movies...FOUR BABY! Let's make an intercontinental ballistic MOVIE FRANCHISE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE! Let's get this writers room assembled, retcon the f* :bay  * out of certain events of the 1st 4 movies, bank HEAVILY...HEAVILY on the 5th movie, build hype by damn near SHOWING the entire movie on the trailers AND REPACK TF4 REPAINTS INTO WAVE 1 OF THE TOYLINE AND START OVERSHOOTING MSRP BY $5......

I MEAN COME ON GUYS IT WORKED FOR RISE OF COBRA RIGHT? REMEMBER WHEN WE BANKED SO MUCH ON IT THEN INTERNATIONAL RETAILER SUPPORT DIED THEN WE HAD TO ADMIT WE OVERSHOT MSRP THEN NOW GI JOE IS...

    DEAD
It's news nonetheless and we'd be remiss to not report it.

They lost me at #4 (which I still bought on DVD, and it took me 3 days to work through it for the second time). Went to the store and looked at #5 on the shelf, and started thinking back to seeing it in theaters, and couldn't remember what the point of the movie was, let alone a reason to buy it on DVD. Just a jumbled mess highlighted by submarine and a bunch of bots running through a majestic and tranquil field.

Hasbro has been trying to copy what others have been doing successfully (and better) for a while now. A decade ago, when Marvel was having massive success with movies based on its properties (first with stuff licensed to other studios like X-Men and Spider-Man, then with its own Marvel Studios films), Hasbro was like "AW YES, BABY! That's what we're gonna do now! We're no longer a toy manufacturer, we're an ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY! We have intellectual properties which we can farm out! Transformers, check! G.I. Joe, check! Battleship, check! Monopoly, check!"

I mean, everyone has seen the Monopoly movie directed by Ridley Scott that was announced in 2008, right?

I recall people being unable to have normal, natural conversations. I recall Marky McCade and English Lady constantly BICKERING AND SHOUTING AT EACH OTHER AND BEING ABSURDLY HECTIC AND ON EDGE, as if they were trying to up-Shia Shia. Anthony McLord was rattling off exposition after exposition at a rapid pace as if he had rehearsed it so he could squeeze as much as possible into the time slot he had been granted, end nobody was ever allowed to have a pause, just take a breath foir a change. There was never any room for the viewer to just absorb the previous input, it was all one giant assault of the senses with rapidly changing visuals while people were constantly yelling. As if Bay thought if he even made a brief pause for a moment (like other movies frequently have), audiences would instantly walk out of the theater due to instant boredom.

I liked TLK, I think it's a fun movie. I would like to see a sequel because TLK set up such an interesting situation with Unicron being earth and quintessa seeking it's destruction, and Unicron ultimately being an evil god. TLK just needs a sequel because this situation has so much potential.

They can't just not do Unicron now that it's set up, right? I got chills when Quintessa said, "Don't touch him. He doesn't like that." Even though there's no way they'll do the chaos God right.

"Interview" is an extremely generous term. It's just running off the company statements we already knew about. Many of them to the letter.

Considering the details they've ignored from the previous movies I can see the next one ignoring Unicron entirely.

I'd almost admire that level of inconsistency.

Reboot and start over. Bayformers are an abomination like Armada and RID2.

Reminds me of conversations from Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion.

    All hope gone.

Er, no. Finish the story, and then do a time-travel movie where they changed Transformers history, improved the Witwicky family tree (I'm Spike. I've never heard of this 'Sam'). And killed the twins before they ever existed.

    And I like RID2.

All the people commenting about yeah, it wasn't good, but they need to follow it up with more!

The term is called "glutton for punishment."

I think this is, above all else, TLK's greatest shortcoming.

The other TF movies have terrible dialogue, bad plot and awful pacing at times, but they have plenty of "normal" scenes of natural, if uninspired, dialogue with breathing room. It had so little time to breath if TLK were a person it would've passed out in the first twenty minutes.
