You you can transform him without breaking the automorph by pressing on the button in front of his front window. People breaking the automorph trying to transform it manually was actually pretty widespread back in the day I think some later copies even warned about it in the instructions.

Here's a temporary fix.

Cool set, but the packaging is way better than the figures. They all deserve a better deco for a set like this. I’m surprised they didnt do a massive seven pack and charge the Earth for it.

Actually, what id love to see is all seven of the CG models lined up next to each other (@Red Goblin  )

The graffiti font reads, "BB's Headquarters" in case anyone is have trouble reading it. Took me a few tries as I don't really track well with graf fonts.

 

I still wish this set had the DOTM deluxe Bee molds... Damn it why did I get rid of those.

 

Sixty bucks for three bees? Booing out of this one.

 

Why 60 ? The Optimus Legacy pack has a price of 29.99

 

Shame, both of the retro Camaro molds can look great in the right colours (though the '69 mold isn't great as a figure).

I got the set a couple weeks ago and just opened it tonight. Unfortunately I lost the QC lottery with 2/3rds of the figures with serious flaws.

The 77 TF1 Bee had a broken automorph tab right out of the box. (On the plus side I was able to compare it to my old one and saw that the old one's tab wasn't actually broken. It just wasn't properly extending.) Color is a slightly more orange shade of yellow than the original and is lacking the "weathering" effect (which I kind of prefer). The face has a very different paint job and doesn't look as good in my opinion. The crotch license plate is "ANZ Z454" rather than the "4NZ Z454" found on the original and masterpiece. (Definitely a random change to make.)

Additionally the 2016 Camaro had two right shins and no obvious weapon storage, but otherwise I really dig him. It takes a few cues from the masterpiece figure especially with the folding roof/windshield collapsing into the chest, the way the legs fold out, and the second piece to the door wings which haven't shown up in other deluxe Bees.

I contacted Amazon for a replacement and it should arrive next week so hopefully the figures in that will actually be ok. (Or at least ok enough that I can do a figure or parts swap to get a full proper set.)

The packaging is nice but a bit large for the three figures. Also the instructions are as terrible as usual. Many important details on the tabbing in the 2016 version are completely ignored since it is a vehicle to robot mode set. Likewise the chest transformation on the 1967 (aka AOE High Octane Bee) is not clear like the front bumper is supposed to be split in step 16 but is shown pegged together when it is tabbed into the waist in step 17.

I don't have the old version of the 67 Bee so I can't comment on any differences, but I do think he looks much better in hand than I remember when I skipped him a few years ago.
