He looks so good! It was tough holding off on Calidus, but the wait was worth it. Even the alt mode is growing on me.

 

On one hand I'm pretty bummed because I think we need a Drift more than Nautica.
On the other hand I'm excited because it's Nautica and I can replace that Titans Return version with a more accurate one. Ugh. SXS needs to start pumping these things out faster! Lol
And seriously, SXS give me Drift. The swords with Hot Flame were such a tease!!

 

At first when we only had a few promo shots I though this guy was way too skinny even for Roche Rodimus (Rochimus?), but damn, those in-hand pictures really show just how great Hot Flame looks!

I want to pre-order this thing so badly. I need a captain for my lost light crew. Do we think he'll sell out quickly? Or can I wait a bit to build up some cash?

 

I don't know, I personally like the smiley, smirky face. It just feels very Roddy to me.

 

Clean paint apps in hand, but definitely a thin figure and take on the character. Not sure how that scales with other figures from the line or with the source material.

 

Man, I hope so. I just hope she is already in development because I feel like we've been waiting f-o-r-e-v-e-r since the initial announcement for Hot Flame and him finally making it to retail.

 

It's been almost 2 1/2 years. I'm going to be an old man before having a complete Lost Light crew. If anyone wants to do a proper Chromedome, Rewind, Whirl, Drift, Ratchet, Rung, Nautica, Pipes, and Ravage, my money is yours for the taking.

 

Opinion varies but Rodimus was never portrayed as a big bulky bot like Optimus, Megs, Tarn or Thunderclash. How slender he was changed between artists but to me this evokes the sporty, lean, mean fighting machine stylings of Rodimus far better than Calidus with his over large bulky chest and lack of a neck. I think this will look great with the MMC IDW stuff.

 

MMC are doing Drift, have said that their upcoming DJD Pet will be retooled into Ravage and have been hinting at Chromedome, MAAS are doing Pipes and X2 have had a prototype Rewind knocking around for a while. Gawd knows when any of them will actually show up though.

 

MMC's Drift(s) bear little resemblance to his appearance in MTMTE and the scale for MAAS's Pipes is too far off for me despite a promising sculpt. I would be excited to see MMC's takes on Chromedome and Ravage though. Thanks for mentioning the X2 Rewind as I hadn't seen it before.

Yea, they look great, they're just not the version of Drift that I want on the shelf.
