Yeah, my cartoon head has two big ass holes on the side of the cartoon neck. I contacted BBTS, hopefully they can replace it or send me replacement plugs. It doesn't look like there's an easy way to pry out the plugs from the factory head either.

Dunno if it's just me but smaller shoulders also make his head look bigger.

 

Holy shit, that looks infinitely better, I take it, it still transforms. The smaller shoulders make his head look more proportional to the rest of his body.

 

No hindering transformation at all. All I did was redesign the shoulder connectors to accommodate mp08 arms which are actually very close in proportions to the rest of the team. All it takes is a screwdriver and 5 mins, I'll up the files to Shapeways if there's enough want.

The head is an unexpected side effect but most welcomed.

 

Huh, nice work, could we see what it looks like in alt-mode, whenever you have free time, of course? I'm sure if TT ever get around to the V2 of this guy this is an issue/area they will address specifically.

Just picked up my first FT figure, and that's Grinder-X. Love the fit and finish.

I had the gigapower slag previously and the overall quality feels similar. Sold the GP figure as I'm running out of space. With FT version I think he fits better size wise, and still brings enough presence to the team.

Yeh. And it still pisses me off that Premium Collectables lied about getting in Stomp-X.

Preorder and fully paid for Stomp-X from PC but it never came. By the time I've gone through my chargebacks with my creditcard company it's all sold out. I might go with GP version of stomp as I don't him bigger than grinder, as a brontosaurus should. And GP's finish should match the X series.

Btw which figure does the extra head that comes with grinder goes to?

 

Grinder comes with an extra head for Sever and extra faces for Soar and Scoria.

 

Theres two faces, one goes with soar, and the other scoria. I think the one your talking about goes to sever.

Not much of a tutorial, but simply unscrew the two screws holding the old dino head on, put the screws back in, and bam! Instant copyright lawsuit (Too soon? Yup too soon...) MP G1 Toon-style not-Grimlock! Only thing you have to maybe worry about is overtightening the screws.

So it seems to me how this kind of thing is going to roll from now on is if a TP make a figure that has a Takara equivalent. Then cease and desist.
