Is that police badge Hot Rod is holding a reference to the Brave series, to be more precise the Brave Police J-Decker series? Looks a lot like the one the main character, Deckerd, of the show has.

Technically it is a set. Not unlike Ultra Magnus G1. Where a smaller "deluxe" figure goes into a bigger armor suit. So the PoTP figure = deluxe Hotrod. + its armor suit, making it Rodimus Prime. And all fairness the deluxe PotP looks far better.
The only thing I am wondering now is if the trailer can become a gun emplacement. Like the G1 toy. Or if a fan mode is possible? Would be awesome if they hid that from us. That would make PotP Rodimus complete.
And honestly, if you want a hotrod/Rodimus, the PotP version is by far the best that I have seen.
The proportions on Targetmaster Hotrod are just not right. No visible wing and a far too long chestpiece.

Kup is the too get figure, those arms and that head make him 100% more Kup then the TR version. And that is without mentioning the paintapps. The detail done on the chestpiece perfect it and make it a slamdunk.
As for the Sharkticon, I ordered one perhaps should have gotten 2, and get 2 scourges to turn into sweeps. But that would be a costly venture.

I see it. They are in between sizes. But we see this more with bigger sets. Cerebros is also a lot taller but not voyager size. And that is ok. I just hope the trailers are more than just suits for the figures to ride in. Granted it already becomes a trailer and a suit. But perhaps it could also become a platform like the g1 toys had. As for the figures, Hotrod is the better of the 2. Though the Prime is better when combined.
Now lets sit back and wait for Magnus and Star Saber. And to boot, Skylynx? I really want me a leader Skylynx. If he is 2 figures that combine it is bought right away.

I'm saying it doesn't have to be a contest of which is better. Since the character has a Hot Rod incarnation and a Rodimus Prime incarnation, the Takara Headmaster figure fills the role of Hot Rod just fine, while the "Deluxe" car figure of PotP Rodimus Prime can fill the role of Rodimus Prime since he's likely a larger figure, and you can entirely ignore the shitty and oversized large Leader Rodimus Prime robot mode. Legends Hot Rod = regular Hot Rod and car POTP = Rodimus Prime in regular robot mode, who can tow a trailer. It's perfect.

You're not understanding what I'm saying. The car portion is not a Deluxe figure despite what they're telling us. He's a small Voyager. Power of the Prime Rodimus cab only figure will probably be as tall as Classics Voyager Prime. That car portion can stand in as Rodimus in a Classics collection since he would match Classics Prime in size and you can ignore the power up trailer combo Rodimus.

Ahh, so it seems she's left her... trauma-inducing childhood incidents behind and grew up to be a mighty fine woman! Except that trauma-inducing incidents seem to follow her around wherever she goes.

At the very least, I think Optimus Primal's was done by Yuki Ohshima, and a few of the T30-original toys kept their Phil Jimenez art.
