In Revenge of the Fallen we saw Decepticons hatchlings aboard the Nemesis. In The Last Knight we saw the mini Dinobots. So there are Transformers babies.. but how do Transformers reproduce? Any theory?
It's an interesting concept. I actually like that they somehow "grow" offspring. this franchise contradicts itself so much and leaves so much unexplained, but sometimes it surprises us too, like actually showing brains and wheelie alive later something I thought they would never retouch on... so perhaps in another movie or so they will
In the old G2 comic book, they said Transformers in the distant past could reproduce by "budding," or something kind of like cell division. Maybe something like that is going on here.
Well in the movies, we are lead to assume the Well of Sparks make Hatchlings & then there are the Quintessons who create beings of their own.
the hatchlings.....wow...what a plotline!...they included them in two movies...nothin...they could have just had ksi 'kidnap' them & viola....instant-ready army..instead they are guarded vigilantly by the twins for eternity
You know, I ignore TF5 facts, and those mini Dinobots were apparently just to please kids, but the Decepticons hatchlings, I think, is the way Decepticons produce an army of protoforms. Hatchlings are clones, they don't need the Allspark to be build them, only a lot of energon, possibly they all have a spark of some Jango Fett Normal TFs with individual sparks are built by others or Creators and got souls by the way we've seen in TF1! We still have some hints, that their bodies can heal small wounds, beards are growing, ammo replenish. So I think, they produce a small amount of metal from energon constantly for healing and maintaining the body. Transformium particles are moving by the will of spark to the new places, where they are needed, like stem cells.
there needed to be a continuity curator on set at all times whose sole job would have been to make sure plot lines aren't dropped into thin air
I agree. Hatchlings don't have a real/ developed spark and seem to be clones. While the Allspark creates true individuals.
I really loathe the semi-reboot trend. Either make a proper sequel or a proper reboot. Pretending like Sam doesn't exist is silly (and yes I saw his cameo in the latest movie, what of it? It's a gag.)
Maybe they are failed efforts of continuing their race, and may explain why the cons got weaker in the sequels: they were originally hatchlings.
