I personally think this style of animation is really lame and not new at all. It has been done by other series of shows. That being said I will reserve judgement until I have seen the show since a good storyline could save it. As far as the toys though if they look like what has been shown so far then no way. Not a chance am I buying a Starscream like that. Maybe Blitzwing will be cool since they actually haven't shown him yet. I guess it is just a waiting game at this point.

I'll give it the same shot i gave the last few shows. I must say, it looks more immediately engaging, and though stange and different, it could be so different that it'll make me love it all the more and not compare it needlessly to older shows.

This is almost always true. It's definitely intended for fans with a certain base knowledge, and I appreciate the TF Wiki for that.
I don't have any problem at all with Walky. Seriously--I'm not anywhere near invested enough in the fandom to care one way or the other. But the smarmy--and that's the perfect word for it--humor throughout the TF Wiki is just...well, I personally think it's pretty lame. It doesn't make me laugh, and even if it did, I don't go to a Wiki for giggles. I go there for information--and yeah, it works for that, but I just think it would work better without me having to slog through a bunch of jokes that honestly just kinda have this awkwardly stilted vibe about them.

I'm guess what I'm saying is that death threats are silly, but that doesn't make mocking the people who make them years later cool or interesting to me. They're both things I have no interest in reading or supporting. But honestly, it's your Wiki, and I've read defenses of the style elsewhere, so if you like it that way, then you should keep doing it that way. Interney =/= democracy or popularity contest.

EDIT: I said I don't go to a Wiki for humor. That's a lie, however. I get my ED fix once a week or so, and that's definitely for laughs. Or lulz. Whatever.

Hopefully this cartoon pulls a "Michael Bay" on us.

The designs we see "suck" (Prime with flames?!), then we see the toys of it and they look way too cool. Then, the trailer comes out with full out action scenes. Suddenly them flames make Optimus look better. Then, it actually comes out, we see it, and it's one of the best things to happen to Transformers.

    I hope I'm right

I once again, second that. This "new" series is nothing actually, new and it's still pure hot BS as regards to those crappy designs. You all KNOW for a fact that the Japanese and G1 animations were far more superior to this stuff. Just due to the fact that it's "American", dosen't make it any better than the Japanese stuff. If anything, it's even worse.

Hmmm I don't know about the opening of the TF animated. But I'm gonna give this show a try after seeing other TFs like Starscream, and this spider-like creature, which Im not sure if it's Black Arachnia. Can't wait for it though. =3

Movie Prime looks far sophisticated to the crap that "Animated" has formulated. Infact, even Energon Prime looks better. I'm abseloutely serious.

But of course, we all know that Cybertron Prime/Galaxy Convoy is the best Prime there is, currently.

I didn't know subjective things could be proven.

But! Some jerk tells me it's a fact that my opinion is BS, I guess it must be true. Thanks!

Beat me to it. Some people need to learn to take comments IN context when they quote them.

Weren't a lot of people this excited when we first started seeing clips of Armada? Refreshing designs, G1 homages, etc... & then we saw that first episode....then we saw the second episode..... [IMG]

Regardless, from one extreme to the next. Super-realistic for the movie & super goofy for the cartoon. I just hope the next major series will be somewhere in the middle.

Otherwise, IDW is the only thing worth looking forward too for now.

Armada was not the best. But it beats TF: Animated within animations, hands down.

5 miscoloured Shockwaves and an army of miscoloured Decepticons beg to differ.

As do the guys who constantly changed faction because they were drawn with the wrong insignia.

No sir, G1 animation is not superior.
And the Japanese G1 (headmasters + such) was even worse, un-moving characters flashing across the screen in an attempt to mirror movement.
    (Excluding Masterforce, that wasnt bad)

(The Galaxy force stuff was superior to G1, simply because of the toy accurateness (except Jetfire + Thundercracker), as was Superlink to a lesser extent.)

I'm very optimistic about the new Animated series and keeping an open mind to the designs, they don't bother me a lot. Although BB's voice doesn't bother me a lot, Starscream's voice is kickass, they nailed that one really well, props to Tom Kenny for that.

As for toys, I thought too awhile back that maybe Animated would provide another opportunity to save up money, the first being movie toys which I only bought a few that I liked. But after seeing Animated toys and the clips, I'm sold. I'll probably buy the new Animated line faithfully like I did Classics and a bit of Beast Wars.

No one else throught Starscream's head was just a bit too far up Megs' ass? I'm also not too fond of all the round and square things becoming round (and yes I know other series have cheated)... Other then that I say bring it on!

I'm tired of people acting like their opinions are bloody facts. You like/don't like the new cartoon is called an opinion. Why you like/don't like the cartoon is called a discussion. That's how message boards work.
