Finally got to handle a copy of this figure today. This figure is spectacular. The only issue I see is the small tabs to keep the wings against the torso are a bit shallow in the holes. No real issues since there are clips too but it would make it more stable if they are a bit tighter.

 

Anyone bought from Baba ands the 5.00 off did NOT appear on the final price? Had this happen for the second time now. First time I messaged him and he fixed right away. This time messaged him twice an no reply.

Opened my Richthofen last night. I really like him! I think he fills the MP Powerglide slot for me quite well. Transformation is pretty intuitive, and the only fiddly bit for me was getting the back plates to line up in plane mode. Also was never able to get the landing gear on his chest to open, but whatever.

Only other minor niggle for me is that I wish the wings were placed further back in plane mode. But that would require pretty different engineering, and might make the jointing around the wing bases weaker.

The gap between the chest and wings doesn't bother me. And I really like how the feet work, it's a good solution for what to do with the tailfins.

Overall I think he's really nice. Some of DX9's best work, I'd say. Feels a lot more polished than some other figures they've done.

 

I've known Greg a long time and I've never seen/heard him use the word spectacular. This is a special one, folks!

 

An observation about Richtofen's color. When placed in a group of red bots (I used MP Ironhide, MP Inferno, and Badcube Grump), the differences in the particular hue of red for each is more noticeable. Richthofen is by far the lightest, almost a dark pink (but not quite). I didn't notice in pictures because mostly he is either solo, with other non-red bots, or photographers use annoying filters.

Anyway I guess my point is when he is placed next to other red bots his color looks a bit off. Sidenote...doing this made me noticed how much of a dark, flat red Grump has.

 

Yeah I noticed that too. I wish he was a little darker red but that's a nitpick for me really. He's still very nice IMO

Did The Chosen Prime do something to piss off DX9? It's been two weeks now since TFSource stocked this figure, that seems unheard of...

 

Unfortunately, the shipment has been in limbo since 9/5 when it went into Chinese Customs. We hope to see it this week as it was finally released yesterday. We don't know why it was held up, only that it was. We apologize for the delay.

 

Finally had a chance to open up my personal copy of this figure after sorting out everyone else's orders and gotta say - I am VERY happy with this guy. Nice paint, nice sculpt, nice articulation! Feet are a bit klunky looking but I can forgive that.

I'm kinda surprised how many (even the reviewers( people have trouble with the landong gear. I received my Richthofen a couple of days ago, and he was just fine. The only complains I have are: The chestplate (with the front landing gear, and the "heart") is too stiff, and the way he fits into his flight-stand isn't that trustworthy. Apart from that, I had no problems with him whatsoever.

I got my replacement right thigh piece and surprisingly, for a guy who's all thumbs, it was replaced rather easily.

I have to say that the seller suncn2010 out of China really is a super stand up guy. He shipped out my Powerglide and I had it in 9 days. Once I noticed the problem, I contacted him and he sent out the parts quickly.

I also have to thank ChromeMagnus, his China seller ebay check list is pretty much gospel. If anyone is ever thinking about buying out of China, checking out that list is an absolute must.......

 

I like this guy overall. My only gripes are the red paint that was necessary on his inner thighs and the overall color. He seems a tad too light a red to me- almost looks faded in a way. But I'm happy with him regardless.

 

Opened mine today. As a robot, it's all right. Opened Badcube Huff as well and that thing is ten times better engineered than Richt and the joints are better tensioned as well. One of Richt's duck feet doesn't stay tabbed in underneath the inner foot piece, but that actually ends up being beneficial because his heel spur pins are too loose to hold the weight of his backpack so anything to help him angle forward a bit is unfortunately a good thing so he doesn't fall backward. His plastic has a cheaper feel to it than Huff's as well and seems to be on the thin side. It's okay, he's a good enough Powerglide to check that box until someone else can offer something better. Richt's not hateful just not amazing. A pretty average release for DX9, imho. But props for being first to market with a character and delivering a product that doesn't suck. There are other companies out there that can't make that boast.  

 

Finally ordered my own Richthofen (from weilangaofeng2015 on eBay). Looking forward to it!
