I think Luke will either have his green lightsaber (wasn't green the colour for more rebellious jedi?) or some other colour to indicate he's becoming a gray jedi (white like Ahsoka?). But not red, because Red is evil. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if the movie ends with Rey joining Kylo at the end of the movie and then in Episode IX they both get redeemed or something. Would mix the storyline from Anakin and Luke: temptation and fall, followed by redemption.
ever since Carrie Fisher passed away, what has been going through my mind is i'm thinking which key important scene I would rather see of her in the new Trilogy, her character Leia having an onscreen reunion with her brother Luke, or her having a mother-son reunion, showdown or confrontation with Kylo Ren. Because it's very possible that either one or both of those 2 key scenes never got filmed, because Carrie Fisher was intended to return for Episode 9 but sadly died before production could begin.
There are no such thing as Grey Jedi in canon. Either you are a member of the Jedi order, follow the Light but don't affiliate yourself with the Jedi (which is Ahsoka), the Bendu who doesn't affiliate with either side, a Dark Sider who isn't a pledged Sith (Kylo Ren, Snoke, and the Knights of Ren), and the Sith themselves. Also, white lightsabers are made by taking a Kyber crystal from a Sith, which was stolen from a Jedi's Blue/Green/Purple/Yellow-Green/Amber saber and then corrupted with the Dark Side until it turns red, and purified of the Dark until it is white like light. An example of a Sith making a green lightsaber crystal bleed:
That the newest Vader series? Finally picking up the first one is still priority but this looks interesting.
Since Disney and Lucasfilm publicly admitted that The Last Jedi will not be altered in anyway due to Carrie Fisher's death, so i'm guessing her character Leia will survive The Last Jedi, and those 2 key important scenes I really wanted to see of her character in the new Trilogy, it's very possible that either one or both of those 2 key important scenes were intended for Episode 9, they should probably show those scenes in graphic novel form, comic book form.
I will be (pleasantly) shocked if Luke has his green sabre or if it is even referenced at all. Like how Superman Returns was a sequel to Superman and Superman 2 while ignoring 3 & 4, that's how TFA felt to me, a sequel to ANH without much regard to ESB and ROTJ, especially Jedi.
I am not sure what you are saying. TFA is a revisit of ANH in terms of story structure and in some ways tone. But the entire story feeds off the end of ROTJ. I believe very little Disney or Lucasfilm publicly says. They are there to sell movies and merchandise and will say what they need to say to that end.
Yeah, It honestly makes me wonder if anybody from Disney/Lucasfilm even actually watched any of the Star Wars movies that are not named A New Hope.
so you think there is a very good chance TLJ has been altered in response to Carrie Fisher's death? most likely they will kill off her character due to the real life death of Carrie Fisher?
Considering how they made Star Tours a mixmaster bastardization of the ANH and ROTJ Death Star fights...
Who knows? They aren't above slapping a CGI mask on a stand in. I am just saying I don't take pronouncements from corporations as gospel. I think whatever direction they go in is going to be sold to fans as the direction they always intended to go in.
