Yeah, I had to mod the ratchets in his legs as well, but overall I REALLY love this toy even today. Never particularly cared for the character, but I really enjoyed how well they designed his look that it just won me over.

Still love this guy's Macross carrier mode. With each passing day I find myself missing the Warbot line more.

I really love this one too. This and Scoria were the first two 3P reviews I saw and this is the figure that led me to this board. My first 3P purchase. I still want that flat top shield to give him that fourth cartoon accurate alt mode. This is definitely my MP Broadside. For this was FP's crowning achievement. I also still love their Revolver with the add on set.

I just picked up this guy. Thanks, Breaux Man.

He needed some major repairs. My hip and thigh ratchets were frozen. Here are some pics of the repairs. Did anyone else run into this?

Yea when I got mine a year back I moved his hip a couple clicks and it instantly locked up. I took him apart and shaved a little of the ratchet teeth off. Usually I dont like to remove material from ratchets but those teeth were so aggressive it was easy to see why the ratchets were locking up.

Hey guys I just got him in today. Same thing... The front and back movement is tight tight, but usable... However the outwards movement it has just locked right up. You think some shock oil in there might help, or is it really just too much plastic on the teeth?

You could try some shock oil first but I wouldn't force the movement too much. If it's still uncomfortably hard to move I would shave the teeth down little by little.

I actually did end up opening that ratchet joint. I was shocked at how rigid it was. The shock oil did indeed work. It now feels like an Energon era ratchet. Not scary tight, but holds firm.

Anyone have any suggestions for tightening his shoulder? One of mine is a little loose in some positions. I assume it's nearly impossible to do as I'm guessing the screws are behind the glues on carrier mode panels?

The right hip/leg ratchet broke on mine. Is it possible to just remove the hip ratchets entirely?

In theory, it looks like you could reinforce whatever's left with a rubber gasket or something, but it really would depend on the state of the figure after the break. If you post some photos, someone might be able to help.

Yuck. That's a bad, bad break, literally and figuratively. It doesn't give anyone a lot to work with.

Dunno how you could actually replace that. It looks like the gear is actually part of the post assembly leading into the hip proper. Basically, you'd be repairing a part that is ridiculously hard to fix. If you're lucky, you MIGHT be able to reinforce the broken loop with a thin washer - try and reshape the gear and glue a washer on one or both sides to hold the thing together, and use some kind of rubber cement/spray rubber to make it a friction joint.

My only other thought would be to chop off the gear portion and try to find an eyebolt that could loop around that peg. Get a dremel and drill out the leg post to fit the eyebolt and glue it in with some kind of epoxy, then use a rubber spray on the eyebolt so that it operates like a friction joint. It'd be a lot of work for something that may not even work, as FP used a lot of weird plastics that don't like to play nice with epoxies.

Honestly, you might be better off served removing the one that's still OK and seeing if someone can't 3d Print you a replacement. I'd also pre-emptively replace the spring on the other leg to avoid breakage there.

Best of luck to you. That's a beast of a break.

I opened the figure to fix it but i can't find any videos/images about that custom/mod... Anyone can give me a hand with that?

    Thanks a lot!!

I just picked up Assaulter for my CHUG display as I wanted something larger than the Titans Return figure. I gave him the Shockwave Lab weapons for TR Broadside, but Assaulter's hand ports are undersized so I had to file down the pegs on the weapon handles to get them to fit.

I have a defender. If I didn't have an assaulter already, I would trade.

Those weapons look great with him. Photo is epic as well!

Maybe advertise in the Legends threads. I swear I just saw someone was looking for this guy.

He works well enough with my Legends figures.

Is this still worth picking up? My local toy shop has one that would cost me about $120 and I’m on the fence between that and MMC Sixshot for the same price. I do have a TR Sixshot but I’ve owned it 3 times and sold it twice. If I picked this up, I’d probably try the Jinbao Sixshot for cheap.
