When you are telling me that base logic is an opinion you will need more than basic math reminders me thinks.

How is that not an opinion? I don't see how base logic can define whether a movie script is solid and makes sense. Everyone has a different mind. Everyone sees thing differently. What makes sense to one person may not make sense to another. That would make whether or not something makes sense into matter of opinion since its on a person by person basis, would it not?

So explain to me because obviously I'm wrong, right?

I am not going to write here a thesis about a subject explained to elementary school, more so something that you absolutely understand, but pretend not to. But for the rare case that you dont lets take it simply and with small steps:

Does it makes sense to eat your own poop?

    *sigh*

    I agree. Nothing is definite.

Christian Bale as Batman isn't definite, Ben Affleck isn't definite even Kevin Conroy who is arguably the greatest Batman isn't definite. Why? Because it's preference. I don't see popularity as key.

If someone out there likes Clooney as Batman, it's fine. There's nothing wrong with that, sure immediately you want to question that person but at least said person knows in heart why they like that actor.

Hell even something like Tim Curry as Pennywise. Anyone can try.....

I heard dogs do that, so yeah?

The general public doesn't care enough about TF fandom or which version is 'definitive' (which is completely subjective from one group of fans to the next, by the way) to even entertain one idea or the other. Wether it's Bayformers, G1, Beast Wars, Prime, whatever. They either like it, or they don't. If they happen to like one or the other enough to delve further into the world of TF, then they can make their own decisions about what is definitive to them.

I'm no Bayformer apologist. I find them to be abysmal films. Some people don't share that sentiment and genuinely enjoy them. That's fine too. Why shouldn't it be?

To claim they 'monopolized' the franchise is ridiculous. If anything, it breathed new life back into it. That is a solid fact. You think we'd be getting the vast array of releases and interest that we do now if those movies hadn't brought Transformers back into the spotlight? It had the same effect that Beast Wars did in the 90s, but to an even larger scale audience.

But even if we did get a great live action movie, there are a lot of people out there who still wouldn't care enough to watch it because at the end of the day, it's still a movie that is based on a toyline. You might not be able to comprehend that, but that's because of how invested you are in this fandom.

Why does it matter how they got into the franchise? Spoiler alert: it doesn't matter. Maybe they enter through the Bay movies and discover that they love Prime. Maybe they picked up Fall of Cybertron one day, and discovered Beast Wars. You're taking all this way too seriously. Remember, we're all here because of plastic toys. It's kindof a silly thing to have an elitist attitude about.

I am here because of the fiction. Period. Many many other people too. Bayformers has associated the idea of Transformers with something catering to the lowest common denominator and re-inforced that exact stigma of the toy commercial, despite many brilliant works of fiction through the years. That is a stigma that can be overcome, exactly in the way that the "comic books for kids" stigma has been. I don't think that would hurt the franchise in any way. In fact, it would invite far far more and more loyal fans, just like Marvel is doing. If G1, Beast Wars and quite a few other works of fiction hadn't succeeded in making people see characters in the plastic, rather than plastic in the characters, Transformers would have been a footnote in history, not much unlike the GoBots.

I believe that Transformers is one of the greatest science fiction concepts ever conceived. Its potential for storytelling is limitless. If only Hasbro and, sadly, the fandom itself weren't taking that for granted.

I don't know why I bother with this franchise anymore, considering I'm a very hated minority amongst our fanbase.

I wonder if this will get a theatrical release to take up that 2019 slot.

I hope it does. I think it'll be more effective if this movie is released before TF6.
