Thanks for posting this. Which one needed fixing, V1 or V2?

 

Probably just me, but I don't see any difference in those photos except that the black piece that holds the combiner port on is rotated differently and is causing the issue. I don't see any difference in how the gray wing parts would be switched unless you already did it in the photo then I get it.

 

I am still waiting since october of 2016 unearth and bulldozer, they assured me a restock for the 2 robots I am still missing.

 

V2 has the issue. Well at least mine did. It's the dark grey part that is flipped around. I had to unscrew It in order for those two side grey parts to lock into the peg. Look at the top one. The peg sits at the top and allows them two side flaps to lock into place. If you look at the bottom picture the peg is at the bottom and so it is impossible to lock the side flaps into place. It's an easy fix with the correct screw head.

 

I understand your point, but I just verified my post and yes that dark grey part that has the pegs on each side is flipped making it impossible for the side flaps to lock into place. The protruding pegs are at the top in the top picture for V1 which is correct and on the bottom for V2 which is incorrect. No matter how you flip that mechanism around it won't work so the only solution is unscrew it and place it on correctly. Problem solved.  

 

Only problem I had with this guy was putting him together, seriously a trip to hell. He's so overly tight, I just wanted to throw coconut oil all over him. I felt I was going to break something at times, but gladly didn't. I seriously hurt my fingers more than once, and those backwards instructions are shit.

He's never being displayed as other than Devy, so I'm good. If the time comes that a better Devy comes along, it's going to be a bitch to put him back in his box to sell him off.

But he's the best Devy we've ever gotten thus far for sure.

Dude I soooo agree. Toyworld needs to have their heads screwed on correctly. Who in the hell designs instructions so that you can use them in reverse??! They were just to flippin lazy to make some that you could use to transform from bot mode. If they had used half of their brain, (if they have such a thing) they would have placed them in the damn box in vehicle mode! A million thanks to Emgo for all of his detailed YouTube videos.

 

I started collecting v1 constructor since june 2016, I have bought the legs and long haul in a row the first time, then purchased in september the 3 missing robots of the team. Hook was in stock, but unearth and bulldozer were listed in restock for september, then we know the troubles that had toyworld. Robotkingdom delayed the restock every month, since they declared out of stock the robots on january. Try to understand my feelings in the following months... Time passed waiting and hoping for a rebunch of 2 robots already paid. I was losing the hope, when finally Robotkingdom emailed me last month with good news, now bulldozer and unearth are listed again in preorder.

 

I just jumped aboard because I couldn't have FT-20 fighting CW Devastator. Picked him up on Taobao for around $330+shipping!

 

Ahhh. So you had paid for them. Wow man that is a super long time, but your patience has paid off. Have fun with him when they arrive!

 

Apparently folks forgot when I posted my Experience transforming him into devy.

I fucked up my hands pretty badly, my fingers even bled a little, all my joints hurt for days. my tendonitis kicked into overdrive. I gotta be honest, as much as I totally love this fucking thing, I'll Never again buy another toy that's this damned difficult to combine let alone transform. It was a bloody painful hell I never want to endure again.

As cool as this is, I don't think any TF should be this fucked up to transform/combine/play with!

 

anyone interested in trading the silver legs for the green legs? I know this belongs in the BST but thought i might have better/faster luck here. Nothing wrong with the green ones I just prefer the silver.

Mong Kok Anime. It's the second order I've placed with them and they usually ship to the warehouse pretty fast. The first order I placed on a Friday and it was in the Warehouse by Monday. This one took a little longer I'm guessing due to the size of the box.

Absolutely. I would have edited the post if it was incorrect. The last thing people need is bad info. Those bots are already a pain in the ass as it is to transform.  

 

Cheers matey, just a Q the problems with the connector is that on all V2's or was just a bad bit of QC on your particular model?

I hear/seen videos showing that the V2 version is easier to combine / tolerance issues have been sorted.

Now that I have all the "upgrades" for my v1 Constructor, I find I prefer the original Green barrel, silver thighs and toy-inspired head. I am happy about the lat fillers and burden skis though...otherwise I coulda just saved the money
