I recall reading a lot of posts from fans excited at the prospect of Hasbro releasing a couple (perhaps all) of the 13 Primes as Deluxe or larger figures. Instead, it seems that they'll be released as Titan Master-sized bots that turn into... blocks.

I think if anyone is feeling a bit disappointed, it's perfectly understandable.

What's especially genius about it to me is that it brings the Pretenders (kind of) in line scale-wise with how they are on Masterforce: Bigger than a human, smaller than a robot. And without the shell, they'll be human (Titanmaster) size. PERFECT. I like the Japanese Pretender concept way more than Marvel's, which made no sense.

I thought the pretender shell thing with Skullgrim was just a one off, if they're actually doing a whole sub line of tiny pretender shells that turn into weapons, I might be more interested in just that.

Though I do wish they were still Titan master heads.

I haven't really seen enough to be dissapointed. I still prefer my Classics Starscream and RTS Jazz so I'm indifferent about those 2. Beachcomber is awesome. He was one of my favorite figures when I was a kid. Rodimus I like as a concept. I just hate that Ultra Magnus and Powermaster Optimus Prime didn't get the same treatment. Darkwing and Dreadwind are cool but I'm really hoping that Takara gives us Hydra and Buster.

I still have my figures crossed for a proper Voyager G1 Optimus Prime. They give us that and the rest of the line could suck for all I care. The whole line would be worth it just for that.

Have any of the primes been depicted in a non monotone color scheme? I think Liege Maximo showed up in green in IDW, and Vector Prime is kinda brownish and steampunky, but besides that, the ones from aligned were kinds of...bland

I understand people wanting them, but I can't help but feel like those would be really boring characters to see on a store shelf compared the colorsplosion of the past few years.

Really boring characters? A minuscule Titan Master, compared to a Leader class Nexus Prime?

Would you still vote for the Titan Master to appear on toy store shelves?

Absolutely love the Pretender thing. The gimmick may be a bit useless, but I don't mind the figures. Hopefully it leads me to a cheaper Botcon Dreadwind in the near future. Tip of the iceberg, but I will be happy if they give us the rest of the Power and Targetmasters that we are missing. Sad that I skipped the club subscription that had some of the CW molds turned into targetmasters. Those molds for Spinister and Needlenose would have been nice to go with the two powermasters they showed us.

I'm starting to hate the fact it will probably take years or decades if at all until we get a proper Rodimus Prime voyager class figure with his trailer integrated into bot mode, like the titanium figure and great looking in both modes. I've been waiting 11 years, now they make Rodimus Prime and he's a fucking leader class figure that's basically like the old tfx protector and Classics Rodimus, only looking cheaper. Argh....

A colorful toy that interacts with the play pattern while homaging a fun corner of G1? Yeah, totally. I'll take a purple and bluish gray skeleton dude over a drab gray and noisy looking prime from the aligned continuity any day. Everything about the PoTP toys ooze fun and silliness, and doesn't that make sense? They are toys, after all, and these new ones are looking like the funnest kind.

    Fair enough.

I'm just playing devil's advocate. I've got no skin in the 13 game.

I am so happy about POTP! A power up suit for Hot Rod into Rodimus Prime is a childhood dream come true. Pretenders are back! PRETENDERS! And more CW-compatible toys!

    THANK YOU HASBRO! Great job!

Pretty excited to see some new retools and molds in the CW play pattern as well as possibly combining Voyager Seekers. Also anxious to see all the new figures that will feature in the line.
However, I'm none too pleased that the terrible quality stickers plaguing Classes Voyager and up in Titans Return are here to stay and will now be filtering down to Deluxes :yuck

Right now with what's been shown pretty disappointed. Aside from Skullgrin and Beachcomber I'm just not excited about any of it. At this point I'm pretty sick of CW and really don't want anymore combiners(not unless it was Abominus but he'd have to knock my socks off). I dunno I think TR might just have spoiled me a tad too much. Just have to wait and see what else comes out.

To be fair, Hasbro could have easily changed the colors of each Prime. They're already doing it by converting the Pretenders into Prime avatars. Even in the Aligned continuity itself, colors and complexity of design have been wildly varying. In the Covenant of Primus, Liege Maximo was a dull, shard monster green Loki while in the Prime cartoon, Megatron stole his conspicuously red arm. Said cartoon also suggested a different color for Solus, going off her golden Forge and creation Star Saber. Then Megatronus shows up, looking almost completely different from his Covenant of Primus appearance with a few cues here and there (more on that in a second.) Then, we don't even know what the IDW Thirteen all look like but they seem to have opted for being more colorful. After that, look at Sentinel (who isn't one of the Thirteen but is still a Prime), who switches between color schemes by incarnation, unable to decide if he's orange or blue. Nexus Prime up there was blue and red at some point and with a very distinctive Combiner look. To say the Thirteen's appearances are flexible is accurate.

For something that Hasbro seems to want to run with and has been developing for some time in a toy franchise, there's been a rather sparse selection of toys involving said concept. The idea of the Thirteen had been brewing for over a decade and with their blending into modern cartoons, have become a staple of modern Transformers lore. It's now been longer since they were more formally introduced (they really couldn't have chosen a worse way to introduce them, mind.) I recall that the idea was seeded by "Covenant", with zodiac themed bots, in 1999.

Going back to RID Megatronus. That is what I would like to see. I can't really speak for other people, but the inconsistencies have been rather grating when it comes to the Primes. The only real implication of Solus's size, for example, comes from a hammer whose wielder would have to tower over that incarnation of Optimus Prime. It would be nice to see something like Megatronus, that takes what we generally "get" about the Primes and condenses them into a recognizable, more simplified and "definitive" look for the Primes that gets a toy (which, personally, I find is what really establishes such a thing in a franchise toy driven as this.)

One may wonder if they're not set in stone, how these little psuedo-Powermasters are not a good depiction. First is that Micronus is pretty much characterized by his miniscule size; second is that between the roughly Optimus sized Megatronus, the Star Saber, and Solus' Forge, the general impression is that the Primes are large. Finally, Hasbro has referred to these as "avatars" for the Primes, instead of their proper forms.

And, yes, it's possible to have fun with toys of the Primes. Even keeping the Prime Masters in, plugging the power to alter materials into the giant lady with a hammer sounds fun. Really, a group of various different giant robots being cool to kids is part of what this franchise is founded on.

Oh God, I can't believe I didn't notice that. A toy I can't clean and whose deco falls off is not a toy for me. :thumbdown

Partially disappointed with the reveals. I don't really like that they're jamming multiple gimmicks into the line, as some of the designs are going to have awkward modes, like Starscream. That being said, Rodimus looks pretty sweet, hopefully we will get more awesome figures from this line.

Hoping a voyager starscream from hascon very long, but disappointed with the starscream with fat arms & legs. If only they size them correctly with good articulation, i just a normal starscream with a bit G1 look will do....

Not really. We didn't even see the entirety of any of the size classes' first waves, and if the Dinobot leaks are true, I'm not mad.

If anything, it makes spending easier and less painful for me since I've only got my eyes on Dreadwind/Darkwing and Beachcomber for now.

Dissapointed with the Pretenders being titanmasters, the Dinobots and wing bros being deluxes, the Predacons being voyagers and fembots and Starscreams taking up space that could be filled with Seacons and Pretender Monsters.
