If the discussion is not caring about anyone else in the comics at this point in a post DJD status quo in Lost Light, well that's fair if those characters just don't stand out to you.

However, the current status of the Lost Light Comic has about as much weight on my desire to own This full DJD team as Rick Remender leaving Uncanny X-Force and writing Uncanny Avengers did on my desire to own the SDCC X-Force pack, and track down Fantomex and X-Force Deadpool; absolutely none!


For the duration that the DJD existed they were a serious threat to whoever stood in front of them (save for the final battle with a certain someone) and I thoroughly enjoyed reading every single panel they were placed in.

This series made them not just my favorite Decepticon team, but my favorite transformers team of all time. That is more than enough reason for me to own every member.

The G1 cartoon ended over 30yrs ago and hasn't stopped anyone from collecting Masterpiece Has/Tak or 3rd party at all. Optimus even died at one point!!!  

 

U mean the full G1? Lets count. G1 movie: once. The rebirth: welp. Headmasters: y not jump into the plasma core? Godforce: well, overlord actually killed him the first time. So 4 times

 

Deaths in comics don't mean the characters are death forever. Even Bucky and Jason Todd, which were the exception to that rule for decades, came back. The DJD can comeback any day to the comics. Even their demise was a bit on the convoluted side; a classic way of leaving things open for future resurrections.

 

Characters like Helex will never be produce by Hasbro or TT, whole DJD are out of their range.

Even if it took several years, I would like to complete them.

Leader class Bonecrusher coming up too and it it 10 years dead character with 15 seconds of fame.

The only things that bother me is release speed. There are so many interesting characters in IDW, but MMC is not quick enough to produce them.

 

Well... I'd say the method through which Megatron obtained his powers was convoluted, but their demise was pretty straight forward: they were torn apart. Shredded. It was actually pretty simple, and dare i say, absolute.

 

Sure, but the Knights of Cybertron can just reset reality or crap like that.

 

It seems absolute! But see, time travel saved megatron from a spark killer(you-know-who). Necrobot literally went back in time to retrieve the would-be-missing bots. Whats next? Somebody places tarn's spark into a new body? Way too many possibilities, ITS SCI FI! the comics will find a way to bring back a character if hasbro wills it. Meanwhile, they probably killed DJD because hasbro had no plans for them. Bummer.

 

optimus wasn't in masterforce, Ginrai was. I don't recall him being killed by Overlord either.

I really hope the reformatted line doesn't prioritize new "lost light characters" over old "mtme" characters. Please mmc, stay the course ignore the relaunch. I'm a big NeoG1 mtme original character fan. NeoG2 lost light original character not as much

Continuing the topic of the DJD's "pretty straight-forward demise", because hey why not?

It's like people who did read MTMTE forget, Rewind died. Yup, he dead. We got him back because he was the only survivor of a, well - I'm not quite sure what to call that duplicate lost light ship alternate reality - DJD raid where everyone was slaughtered on the Lost Light ship. But otherwise...actual Rewind, he still dead. We have a version of him that currently exists.

If sci-fi fuckery like that can and does exist in this series, I guarantee it's not the last we've seen of the ever popular DJD...

 

What's funny is these figures would likely encourage a return of the DJD if anything. It is after all itself a form of advertisement for these characters. And the designs are just so neat they're one of those typical villain groups you can indeed see any random nonsense excusing their appearance once more.

Heck lostlight was all about an alternate universe that megatron ended up stuck in to help make unshitty where characters like terminus were alive and well.

I'm still looking forward to see where they go with that. I also can't wait for MMC's the Pet to release, because I'm confident that the mold will produce MTMTE Ravage as well!

The death of Ravage in MTMTE, was perhaps once of my favorite Megatron moments in the entire series.

 

I cannot get the remaining DJD fast enough. They will definitely get their own shelf.

I do sometimes drive myself buggy, wondering what Helex could remold into .

 

A super beefed up Skullgrim would be pretty neat to see using Helex's body. Swap the cockpit for a solid one, give him some different arms, replace the smaller arms with simple details and you're good to go.

 

Megatron killing you with anything other than a fusion cannon shot to he head is convoluted. And here it was weirdly teleported antimatter, very unMegatrony, even for Treehugger Megs.

I remember reading that and for some reason just thinking that was basically what happened whenever he fired his fusion canon. Never imagined him accessing it the way he did against the DJD though.

However, I thought it just reaffirmed Megatron's status quo as the baddest and most powerful of the Decepticons. His lost light stint almost reminds me of this exchange from the Movie "3:10 To Yuma" (and if you recall, Ben Wade murdered his entire outfit and then stayed on the train at the end; and if you haven't seen it yet...whats wrong with you?) :

William Evans: Call 'em off.

Ben Wade: Why should I?

William Evans: Because you're not all bad.

Ben Wade: Yes, I am.

William Evans: You saved us from those Indians.

Ben Wade: I saved myself.

William Evans: You got us through the tunnels. You helped us get away.

LazyAza, I would like to petition the next group MMC works on is The Scavengers! Another Prime fan favorite group to bring to toy form! Extra points if you guys find a way to make a Build a figure Grimlock for each of them.  

I would totally be in for that!

 

I already mentioned doing Spinister to a designer months ago and he'd retool nicely in to Armada Cyclonus as well if we did him. All the Scavengers would be perfect for more general sci fi vehicle alts so they'd all be good choices for retooling this or that and vice versa so yeah hopefully mmc can indeed do them all some day. I would want Flywheels just so Tesarus can hold him haha.

 

Do I hear hints of the possibility of the potential for 3P Armada? That was unexpected.
