    1) There's so much goodness and payoff in the TF1 finale! The only thing I didn't like was Megs dying.

    IMG_3746.JPG
    2) AOE had a good boss battle, and I kinda liked the Dinobots, but I get a bit tired of the endless streams of cannon fodder, I don't want to watch a video game!

    IMG_3747.JPG
    3) DOTM was super long and disjointed, lots of annoying pointless decepticon deaths and fuck ups. I guess there were some fun parts, but nothing really gripping. Good boss battle though!

    IMG_3748.JPG
    4) ROTF had some good moments, but it's too much just humans vs Decepticons, with Autobots shooting in random directions in the background.

    IMG_3751.JPG
    5) TLK was 40 mins of build up, and then like 5 minutes of prime spinning death! It did all kinda look pretty, but I know on second view i'll really pick it apart!

Can't top the Battle of Chicago. Just about everyone gets a moment to shine, the emotional charge between Optimus and Sentinel once they finally fight is great. Que (and at the time potentially Wheelie and Brains) at least dies to show the good guys aren't winning 100% of the time. Sam really rises to the occasion. Small intimate feel with only a handful of troops and Autobots versus a legitimately threatening army of Decepticons. Sam versus Dylan. Steve Jablonsky firing on all cylinders, particularly during Optimus' big charge.

TF1 was definitely fun, though. Big downsides were that Megs and Optimus' fights were either brief or mostly offscreen. Nobody mourns Jazz. Things kinda get a bit confusing. But on the other hand you have some great, close quarters fights. Especially Ironhide, Jazz, and Ratchet teaming up on Brawl. Mikaela helping Bee out, and Blackout's chilling arrival, as well as Starscream's epic jet kudo. Starscream in general actually made us fear him.

ROTF was... mixed. Devastator just gives the Twins an action scene despite his wicked cool combination and vortex scenes. Most of the battle is humans shooting at offscreen Decepticons, and an occasional shot of Ratchet, Jolt, and Sideswipe. Arcee's unceremonious death. Ron demanding his family stick together was surprisingly good. Jet Prime was cool despite Megs and the Fallen quickly getting whipped.

AOE had some fun moments, the highlight of the action easily being Hound using whatever he had to keep fighting on. The Dinobots were cool for their two minutes. On the other hand you got the baloney magnet scene, Lockdown dying because villains have to die, and Shane and Tessa. Meh.

TLK was kinda refreshing in that it didn't take place in a city and instead went for a natural looking environment. But Autobots vs Megatron was too brief, Nitro Zeus was wasted and killed like the usual shitty way the Decepticons are, and who gives a fuck about stupid asshole engineer?

TF1 by far. The whole movie is very restrained with its use of the bots and it really builds up an air of mystery about them. Seeing Megatron and all the Decepticons revealed and throwing down with the Autobots was a fitting finale.

To me, DOTM's battle just edges out Mission City's 07 brawl.

Just seeing Prime fly on down and take down about 5 Decepticons, before going at Shockwave and Sentinel.

Plus, it has one of the more emotional moments I feel, when Optimus battles his mentor, and Sentinel just attacks him like he's lost his mind.

I always liked the 'please' Optimus utters, like he's trying to make Sentinel stop.

It does feel like it resolves itself pretty quickly with Optimus just killing Megatron and Sentinel, though even the 07 film just seemed to off Megatron in a heartbeat.

The first movie, AKA the one where Decepticons aren't faceless goons meant to be mowed down by Optimus Prime.
Plus, it has more of the robots and none of those gunships that I'm not really fond off.
DOTM next, then AOE, followed by ROTF and finally TLK.

DOTM because Optimus finds his match which he couldn't just kill over 10 secs and Sentinel kicks so much ass.

I have to agree. Brawl took on Jazz, Ratchet & Ironhide all at once. Between him, Megatron, Starscream and Blackout the Decepticons were way more than a match for the Autobots which gave the good guys quite a challenge. Brawl himself probably can put up more of a challenge than 75 stupid protoforms.

You had Optimus getting his ass handed to him by Megs, Ironhide & Ratchet barely holding their own against Blackout & Starscream. Bumblebee lost his legs and couldn't even stand and poor Jazz was ripped in half while Brawl was having his way with the military ground troops. It really made you wonder how the Autobots were going to actually win. And that was with no nameless protoforms. Imagine the battle for them had Barricade and Scorponok not disappeared at the end.

Yep. Since there were so few of them each of them had a chance to shine and show just how powerful they are.
I was hoping the same for TLK since they even revealed a new Decepticon line up, but alas, my hopes were dashed...

I'm one of the few who went for TLK.

I just enjoyed seeing the wide open greens juxtaposed with planet parts. The soundtrack, especially when the characters were being tossed around first in the Ospreys, and then the ignition chamber, I really loved.

Sorry but the last battle in these films is never the best battle of the movie.

Earlier in the films it feels like the Decepticons are allowed to kick a little butt so it's not always a given that the Autobots and the mightiest force in the universe humans will just stomp all over the Decepticons during that part of the movie. You get a nice bit of tension when either side could win because there is still a lot of run time left in the movie. But towards the end of the movie the Decepticons are just there to get slaughtered in large numbers to make the heroes look cool and that's rather boring even when the visuals look pretty.

An issue that the big films in general have been suffering from. Hollywood feels this need for the good guys to always win the last battle so people no longer feel like there is even a question of if the hero will win. With all this end of the world crap they write into too many movies you know the bad guys don't actually have a chance in hell of actually destroying the world so something like the end of Avengers 2 was so boring.

If you walked out of the movie theater when the last battle of a Transformers movie started the only thing you wouldn't know is which token Autobot was going to die but you'd know the Autobots were going to win and the Decepticons wouldn't achieve their world ending goal.

I'm incline to agree with you there, for the most part. The only exception that I make is for the first film, where the final battle, to me, brought a level of gravitas and tension that few events in the series have matched. I really like the battle of Shanghai, certainly more so than the majority if the battle of Egypt. I liked the highway chase/Mexican standoff more than most of DotM (and honestly, it's one of my favorite sequences in the trilogy). I liked the first half of the battle at Hong Kong a lot, but the latter half really pulls it down (pun intended). I have no idea what the hell I'd choose for TLK, as there weren't actually many good, substantial conflicts, and while I like the final battle more than most, I prefer shorter things, like Bumblebee and Cade vs the TRF and the Autobots vs Megatron's crew (rip Dreadbot and Onslaught, ????-2017)
