Ok, moment to clarify ... the original post was annoying bc TG-23 was NEVER avail for $75 so it's apples to oranges ... Hasblow was clearly inferior, but what price tag to put on that inferiority, I have no idea, let's just not muddy the waters to score cool points ... the bigger point - that these are overpriced - is totally justified ... but it's like being in the luxury car market - we can fixate on price or just acknowledge that these are frivolous luxuries and you either have the money or you don't ...

You'll be waiting a very long time.

If FT did make one, it would be MP scaled, and be larger than even their Omega Supreme which is being released in two parts to stay cost effective.

I personally have a hard time imagining the logistics involved of such a project, and can't imagine a lot of 3Ps willing to take a risk that might bankrupt their company over such an endeavor.

Yes, much cheaper then the going rate now. Cheapest I've seen on ebay is $400.

Learn your facts before commenting. Also I wouldn't call going from $100 to $260, inflation. It was $100 when it first came out. Costco had it for sale later for $75. The reason why this cheap sh*t plastic cost $260 now is because Takara/Hasblow has done their research and knows what people are willing to pay for it and then price is accordingly to sell. This junk plastic is probably only worth $150 max, even then. The new Fans Toys Omega Supreme is MUCH better quality than this PoS plastic and doesn't cost much more, just for comparison. If you're patient enough, Fans Toys will eventually make about all the characters.

You haven't brought any new "facts" to the table ... you continue to reference a toy (Hasbro 'plex) that is not being reissued so your 'input' only serves to obfuscate ... I know you feel real bitter abt blowing your life savings on the Hasbro release, but this isn't the proper forum to pursue hurt feelings

I think people are missing that Legends Fort Max retailed for around $230 at US shops so $260 from those same shops isn't exactly an inconceivable leap.

Also, I'd like to take a moment to mock the misuse of the word "scalper." Somebody not selling you an X year old toy for a price you want to pay isn't automatically a scalper. Personally, I love not being able to sell anything for retail when it's new. There's nothing like sinking a thousand bucks or more into an order and having to tell a hundred people that half price is a bad offer and they should feel bad. It sure puts a different spin on the absolute disaster that is distribution around here. No longer is distribution a slight against me personally but a reaction to market forces beyond my control. And, as they say, knowing is half the battle...

Yeah, I remember that and getting excited, but after hearing it was cancelled, I looked at the newer HasTak Metroplex and those video reviews didn't sway me at that time.

Maybe in the future, some unofficial company will be able to finally create a Metroplex to this scale and better than Utopia.

    Pre-ordered it!

Missed it first time around because I had dropped out of collecting--- (Combiner Wars & Titans Return claimed my soul back)
Now time to scratch my head and wonder:
    A) how the hell to smuggle this thing into my collection without being (justly) murdered by my wife
    B) do defibrillators work on ailing wallets?

Ya know I think it's funny that this is getting re-releaseed. Simply for the reason that we all was talking about it the last few day or so and know it's going to see light of day again. I have to wonder are TT reading all are threads or was this just a fluke that it happened at the same time.

Buy Trypticon and tell her that Metroplex is the only one who can protect you from him.

Tell us the result, if you survive!
I found Metroplex on kapow toys for about 250 euro, not too bad, but first I want to know how much the DNA feet upgrade kit improves his posability.

I paid 294 usd with shipping 2 years ago for my takara version So this price seems in line with today's currency exchange rates and market asking price.

I have a kit preordered for Fort Max. Depending on how that turns out I'll order one for this Metroplex. I'm hoping those ratchets work well and aren't too much of a pain to install.

I've been waiting the fortress kit for months and I cursed an entire pantheon when they delayed it to make the metroplex version. Never imagined it would turn out to be a good thing...or maybe a bad one if it makes me buy another titan.

I got into collecting way too late to score a Metroplex. I know he isn't the best figure ever but I will not let this one pass by. Already bought the DNA hand upgrade and I plan to pick up the feet upgrade after I have a chance to mess with the Fort Max set. It'll be a little hard to spend this much on the figure after being mildly disappointed with Fort Max though. Especially since, to me, Trypticon is such a huge improvement.

    Ebay:
Demand everywhere shot up the minute Trypticon was announced, Takara obviously recognized that getting Metroplex back out there even in limited form was a good idea.
