I mean I know it's still a very large scale event considering we had Cybertron approaching and we had Quintessa. Yet I never had that sense that there were really things at stake (even less than DOTM. At least DOTM tried with some succes and AOE was a personal conflict between optimus and Lockdown).

But here... let me write this out:
    - In TLK we are shown that the Autobot faction is still abundant. They even arrive in waves. Most of them don't even seem to care about fighting.
    - Even Daytrader as annoying as he was still did something useful (providing a ship). But yet he dissapears in the 3th act ( to be fair he didn't look like a fighter)
    - Strangely enough the Dinobots are not with them on the ship. They are deliberately left behind
    - Topspin didn't seem to be remotely concerned about the fact that the horns of Unicron were sprouting out. All in all the Wrecker looked very disconnected from the Topspin we saw in DOTM. Maybe it had something to do with the fact he had leadfoots head. (On a positive note it did show that the wreckers weren't all about violence and some appreciated earth's culture)
    - In the final conflict we had on the decepticons side: 10 protoforms, Infernocus, Megatron, Nitro Zeus and 10 assault carriers. On the autobots side: Optimus, Bee, Hotrod, Hound and dragonstorm. Crosshairs was giving cover fire But I don't remember seeing him entering the Ignition chamber. And Dragonstorm dissapears after tackling Infernocus.

My point is that it felt more like a fight between 2 gangs and less as a war or a skirmish.
I probably will have some other points that will come up. But it will leave it at this for the moment.

It's been small since they introduced the Creators in AOE.

But these films tend to tone down the conflict in favour of human reaction to it.

Yes, because once again, they focus too much on the humans instead of the transformers. There were only two times in the movie that the autobots and the decepticons had a "fight". The first one in the small town where half of the cons get killed and in the final battle where Nitro and Infernocus get killed and Megatron loses an arm and gets thrown out the window.

    ^what mega said

they were pushed aside for a poorly executed, human dominated, linear plot buildup only to possibly start back on level zero for the next film

Why do all of your polls have this option? Its getting old and it kinda bothers me tbh.

I did it out of habit. It was meant as some kind of (failed) running gag... But it's a good thing you're telling me. Next time I make a poll I will leave it out. Hope you understand:oops:

I would say that TLK pays much less attention to Transformers in general than other films (maybe TF1 has also little, but it looks organically since it's a beginning of the story). I have thoughts that Cogman was in the Movie serving very sad purpose. Cybertronian-butler! "What an offense!" He was needed only to save Cybertronians on screen in the numerous human scenes. I was thinking about that when I remembered Bumblebee and Hot Rod, looking to Burton's cabinet through the window. Think... They must pry through the window to stay in the Movie! In Transformers Movie! And, yes, of course, we have so little battles and many of them are tiny! Cybertron assault looks like a skirmish, not like an epic battle.
AOE Hong Kong battle was awesome! But AOE starting from the point, when we hadn't Decepticons at all!

Maybe some will find it amusing. I just feel like its more unwarranted hate on the movie. Saying the movie made no sense is quite a stretch.

Yeah I understand besides the "random answer-option" was kinda getting stale by this point.

But to be clear: do you want me to leave out the whole option or just the "makes no sense just like this movie" sentence?

    Yes because Lorenzo said so...

"We’re really waiting to see how the audience responds to this movie and what elements they really love because one of the things we found was – as filmmakers – that there was great freedom suddenly to break sort of the simplistic Decepticons vs. Autobots," he added. "And now, Arthurian legend, now Knights, and now humans have a role, and that was really exciting for us so I think we want to keep pushing out. So I don’t think you can anticipate necessarily that we’ll do a movie in sequence."

Gee I wonder what folks want to see when they go to see a film called "Transformers".

Yeah, definitely. It felt weird even before Cybertron showed up. Once it did, it felt really small for such a huge event. DOTM had a similar situation and a whole invasion, why was that not the case here....?

Realistically there never was a threat for the Autobots. They had Dragonstorm, the knights and Dinobots on their side.
Bumblebee took out what was suppose to be the strongest characters in the franchise with one blow. That makes him stronger than Optimus.

Infernocus was the only hope I had for any type threat.

So do I. Wonder how the Energon Whopper differs from a regular Whopper. And does the Burger King Transformer from ROTF have something to do with this?

Has to be easier to explain than the movie itself right?

    Yes I do.
Probably because part way through the movie we got this whole 'Suicide Squad' scene when we were introduced to Megatron's team of Deceptions who've never even been seen or mentioned before, and then most of them died 10 minutes later.

Towards the end of the movie I saw Megatron, Barricade and Nitro Zeus, then shortly after when Megs met Quintessa and she told him to protect the staff, or get the staff, or eat the staff, or whatever, Megatron replied, 'My army will take care of it.' and I'm like 'WHAT ARMY? YOU HAVE THREE GUYS LEFT!'

It is the main problem with the movie: too little focused on the action and the autobots-decepticons characters. Especially compared to his predecessors
