Combiner Wars Gravedigger: The Loneliest Constructicon

    Update Aug 5th, 2017

"Gravedigger was so unpleasant and repugnant, that even among
the Decepticons he was most often shunned. No matter, he doesn't need friends
anyway. Not when they sooner shoot him than be friendly with him.

In order to survive, he took to hiding among the rusty scrapheaps of Cybertron,
sorting through the thousands of corpses that seem to come through every day due
    to the relentless civil war.

When the need arises, he grafts dead cybertronians to him self to augment
his incredible strength, forming a hulking, ungainly, devastating monster.
'No one will dare disturb my solace now,' Digger
    thinks grimly to himself."

    I always wanted a constructicon, a Devastator. But I don't need one that's 2 feet
tall and does not work with the rest of my CW figures. I'm inspired by how modular
and interchangeable the original scramble city and energon combiners are.

Thus, I'm proud to present Gravedigger, an original constructicon character I
can call my own. Obviously created from a Hot Spot with an Onslaught chestpiece,
I also added a few new tools to warrant calling him a 'constructicon'.
(3D printed on Shapeways, of course)

Firstly he comes with a wrecking ball on a chain that can open up
to form a 4-fingered grappling claw.

What is a Devastator without his drill hands? This enormous drill bit can be
pegged onto any 5mm port, and also opens up into a 4 fingered claw.

    [IMG][IMG]

Not a 6 member combiner team he ain't, but Digger still combines to form an
imposing stature. Pegging on those new weapons was also really fun! He was a
joy to pose and fiddle with.

And just in case you are wondering, yes the heads are modelled by me and 3D printed
on Shapeways in Frosted Ultra Detail. They came out beautifully with sharp levels of detail.

Thanks for viewing and I hope you guys like it! Catch you guys around!

That is kinda Awesome, i was wondering if there's any combiner head variants planned as well. Like an Energon Constucticon Maximus head or one based on R.I.D Landfill (Who was redecoed into Devastator) perhaps?

Amazing. I thought of doing something similar to hotspot, turning him into Hook or Mixmaster. This works much better as a stand alone product.

    I love everything about this!

Did you paint the limbs too or is that photo editing?

Thank you, many thank yous! Your comments are very much appreciated!

No plans yet, since Digger is meant to be a one-off, but I might consider it. Constructicons of all lines are cool to me :)

I decanted a can of Tamiya bright green lacquer, and airbrushed it onto a base coat of Gunze Sangyo primer for consistency.

    Thanks!
Yeah the reason I cooked up the zombie limb story is because I don't want to do all the work creating 4 limbs for him.
Maybe next time when I'm in the mood for breathing in green paint again I'll do them limbs.

I think their heads will be much bigger, I'm not sure.
The head shown here is the exact scale with Defensor's?

Photoshop...I er...can't afford to paint them all grey for one photo shoot.
Maybe next time when I can find limbs on clearance!

This would be accompanied very well by a Scrapper-shovel for Swindle.

The paint looks so smooth, it almost looks like it was molded in those colors. Very nice! :thumb
