If you're just starting, you probably just wanna join one of the open alliances you find in search while you build up a few bots. I mean it's hard to contribute much to your alliance until you've got a semi decent roster. I dunno, maybe more established alliances might let you in if they're pretty chill. You could always try that guy who posted below you.

Wow. No thanks. I like my games to be... you know.... games. Fun. Not a second job.

So I'm working on building up my bots as quickly as I can. Getting alpha from raids (I've gotten pretty good at it) and gold from arenas. What's the quickest way to get ore? I've been farming story level 2-4-4 (the one I complained about with barricade bleeding me to death) cuz it's got a pretty short path through the center that gets me 8-10 225 ores but it still feels kinda slow. Is there a better level for this?

2-4-6 all-right path, you get a lot more ore and 7 chests which often give you energon too. 5x r3 should breeze through it

Tried it. There's certainly a lot of goodies and I like that it gives you energon. I don't get a lot of energon now that I've finished all the levels and gotten 100% on all the ones I can (I should take another stab at getting 100% on the act three levels now that I've got some more powerful bots). The downside is I've got 58 mission energon and I still can't get through all the way in one shot so I'll have to plan it around my raids since I need the same bots for raiding that I use in story.

And back to griping: I hate how the difficulty ramps up in arena. It gets to the point where you're fighting bots with twice the combat level you have. At that point they could stand there, never striking or blocking and let you hit them until their power meter fills and then one shot you. I mean they're completely impossible to beat no matter how well you fight unless you get extremely lucky.

Act 2, chapter 4, mission 6. Take the path on the right all the way. If you're using five 3 star bots, you should be able to breeze through.

    Re: enemy levels in the arena;
FWIW, my strategy like yours, but with a minor adjustment. I keep my four or five of my lowest level bots in reserve. Then, when I've reached the 3X multiplier, and played about three rounds with my highest level bots, and the difficulty level is really starting to ramp up, I start playing with teams of two of my highest level(remaining) bots, and one of those lowest level. That skews the level of the opposition down a bit. I match my low level team member against the top bot of the opposite team.

This, of course, means that I will be guaranteed to lose one of the three battles, but seems to increase the likelihood I'll win two of the three and keep the 3X multiplier. It seems to allow me to play a couple more rounds with the multiplier than I otherwise would, which is probably worth it.

    Any of that make sense?

(This only works when you have a lot bots in play, so I can only use it in arena campaigns with 2 and 1 star bots.)

And I just accidentally forged my third most powerful bot. Dammit.

This actually works amazingly well during the Crystal Bounty events where the lump all the bots into one group. Teaming a pair of 3 or 4 star bots with a 1 star... The one star gets so few points for winning that it's barely a sacrifice.

Yeah, I actually started doing that toward the end of the arena event. It does work pretty well. I managed to make it through all the prize tiers and then racked up another 100k points just to be sure I'd be in the top 10%. That got me just enough four star crystals to get my second four star bot.

That's definitely when it's most helpful for me.

Damn. I thought I could get my third alpha spark by completing the exploration of the hard level of the the special story (I'd already earned the rewards for exploring the east and normal levels). I knew it would take a lot of energon on repair and revives, and I was able to get all the paths but the final one, the 4* path. But I just burned through the last of my energon and lost my last bot on that path. It isn't going to happen. So close, and yet so far!

Hope another special mission with alpha spark rewards comes up soon. Sigh.

I hear ya. I started to try it but noped pretty quickly. Didn't blow any energon: I knew it wouldn't be enough. That's why I do raids for alpha Sparks even though I don't like the idea of raids.

I wish you were able to trade Bots with other players. There's a few I really want to get my hands on but my luck when it comes to crystals sucks.

I haven't played Forged to Fight, but seeing it makes me wish we'd get a full-on console Transformers fighting game. Get a developer like Capcom or the like on that...I'd buy that in an instant.
