I still don't like that new alt mode on Huff.

I do agree the older one looks better.

After seeing V2 Huff I think I will stick with Cubex Huff. I will be picking up their Pipes.

    IMG_0699.jpg IMG_0696.JPG IMG_0697.JPG IMG_0698.jpg I don't know, I'm so torn.

I was really looking fwd to this release, and I think it looks awesome, huff anyway. I just stopped collecting Takara because they look too cartoony. This matches very well with mp Inferno mp laserwave, even mp megs (which I love but only because I would collect any megs that is mp scale).

I may pick this up, but only because the hips on my huff v1 are pretty bad. Paint isn't so much an issue like some.

Happy for those that missed v1 though. Here are some pics of v1. Not sure if they fixed the hollow legs on the back of this v2? Anyone notice somewhere?

Oh ya, rubber tires might also get me to bite. I've accepted fanstoys seaspray, I could easily get over the "toony" look of this guy.

If you want to check it out, I worked on hip replacements on Shapeways. I have not printed in WSF but I did get mine in Black Acrylic.

New Huff doesn't look terrible, but I think I'll stick with my v1. Just started to strip the paint to get him back to factory so there's that, too.

Same here. That cab just RUINS the look for me. That's not Huffer's cab. Were they going for a more realistic alt mode?

I really like the robot mode look, but that friggin cab.....man. Same issue I had with X-transbots. Angling that cab would not affect the robot mode in the slightest. I don't get the decision by Bad Cube here.

Shheze, $80? That's kind of ridiculous.
Minimal paint (almost none on Pipes) and mini-bot size at a carbot price. I couldn't do their Gears at $60, I'm going to struggle with Huffer at $80.
Compare this to the $45 Stunticons from XTB (which I know are a special case, but nonetheless shows how steep the markups are) Or the $100 Constructicons from Toyworld. $80-85 will get you either of the IDW Rodimi which are larger and have more paint. I might almost have been willing to spring for this at $80 ifit had a full coat of auto-body paint. But as is?
I think I'll wait for a while. Thanks to the V1, I doubt these will sell out soon and we may see price reductions. Hopefully XTB will re-design their own Huffer, or another company will do this right.
As for this alt mode design, to me it's perfectly clear they're going for a more realistic alt mode, to tie back into the Hasui era, "Rel Car" concept of MP. Just like XTB Cliffjumper, all the Trailbreakers and Hoist's and even BC's own Sunsurge and Wardog. Toon accuracy in bot mode and real life accuracy in alt mode. Personally I love that.
The 3P market is changing, prices are getting more competitive, quality and designs are improving and collectors expect more bang for their buck. This seems a bit like Badcubes resting on their laurels. Nothing they've released has really impressed since Sunstreaker. Their Gears and Swerve where the same kind of cheap looking unfinished plastic look, with really cheap "happy meal" style alt modes, Trailbreaker and Hoist at least had decent paint, but the designs were a bit ho-hum, and then a bunch of re-releases and repaints. Minimal improvements on Brawn and Outback, skimping on the painted details on Huffer, almost no paint on Pipes... Compare that to FansToys with Dinos, Skyfire and then Omega, not to mention Kup, Arcee, Springer and Hot Rod, plus PF Cyclonus. Or XTB with Springer, Seaspray, Cliffjumper, Cosmos, an amazing looking Hoist and now venturing into Combiners. At this rate Badcube are being left behind a bit in the MP game

Echoing everyone else: Prices are too high, and Pipes looks lame with the windows the same color as the body of the vehicle.

    (YES; doubled here:)

    Hmm...

It looks a little better than Cubex' Huff. Not enough to justify that price.

What does Huff go for on the secondary?

Kapow has them at £43.99 ($58.15) for huffer and £39.99 ($52.87) for pipes which is a lot more reasonable, though still not what I would call cheap.

I jumped to get a preorder in but I just cancelled it. It's just not that nice for the price vs V1. Maybe if it comes out and is painted or they do something I'll consider it but yeah...it's just not that great looking. That orange plastic is really hurting it.

It might be just the lighting, but the orange looks oddly translucent in places.

I don't mind them, their original characters looked boxy enough to me, as well. Even the feet I just pass off as typical Badcube, but the price... I would buy them, but BBTS are a little tall in that aspect. I'll be waiting for Rub on this one.

I am guessing the cab had to be made into a box shape to accommodate that collapsing feature to reduce the back pack, but I prefer the look of the ver.1 cab much more. Not to mention the new cab has less detail and less paint, but that high price tag is what really kills it.
