i really want dragonstorm as sky lynx. have him split into sky reign and lynxmaster. it's basically the same name formula as dragonstorm's, plus dragonstorm is two components combining into one... and the names are from the two combiners the cw sky lynx mold was part of. it's at least a double homage, right?

 

It's hard to believe this line is still a thing. Every store in my area never got anything past wave 1 and the shelves still have plenty of all of that, and the movie pretty much came and went. I like some of the figures though so for me it's good, it just seems like these releases are coming out too late after the movie hype to sell well at brick and mortar.

 

Is this still happening? Re-releases and minor new paint jobs? REALLY, HASBRO?

You'd think the terrible sales of Wave 1 would have taught them something... but I guess we need another release of Strafe and Crosshairs?  

On the bright side, Hasbro is making it easy to ignore this movie line; I already bought most of it in 2014!

I really hope this toyline doesn't get pulled before Crosshairs or the new Bee mold get released.

Like everyone else, all of my local stores still carry Wave 1. Thought by now I'd see Drift or Crosshairs.

 

I love the way Hasbro handles Marvel Legends- one good wave of new figures with some additional two packs for each movie. They should have had all the new toys ready in time and have them released by the time the movie came out. They still have a "classics" line and an RID line and a Robot Heroes line on the shelves, so Transformers, as a brand, is represented. No need to have the movie line broken up into waves that are padded with repaints for 6-12 month. This isn't a knock against repaints because I perfectly understand the need for them financially, but these are repaints of 3 year old toys that have mostly been repainted already and I don't see having much of an appeal to kids or collectors.

 

Ok from pictures alone I'm ok with the figures, planning to get most of them, but why is it every online store makes you order the whole wave set but no option for single orders?

 

yup. out of the three walmarts, one tru, and three targets i regular, one walmart finally got the wave 2 voyagers a couple days ago and megatron is already gone. no leaders or any wave 2's anywhere else. how long has wave 1 been out now?

 

Good luck getting these....although you probably have them.....wave one, as usual, was over ordered...and now that the big cardboard ailse thingys are gone, the shelves are stacked with them....like I said in another thread...better grab em when you see em, cause stores are very stupid, and cannot discern new stuff from old...they only see quantity.

I skipped Slug & Slash but I really love the Strafe mold so I'll get this minor repaint.

Having said that I sit in anticipation for BBTS to put up preorders for Crosshairs, Strafe, Bee, & especially Cogman. Don't count on retailers stuck in the Wave 1 quicksand.

 

What are the actual mold differences between this crosshairs and the AOE version? Besides the guns..

 

As far as im aware its a new mold based off the old one, kinda like Chromedome from CW Deadend. New mold but has the same basic transformation with new bits to accommodate the TR gimmick

 

I will try to get that Dragonstorm. The colors might be a bit on the odd side but I like that mold, especially those wings. I don´t care about the rest. Crosshairs might be an improvement when it comes to the mold but the paint is a big step backwards and I already own Black Knight Strafe so that one is an easy pass. I just hope my store gets those figures but I am not too worried because he also got wave 2. Does someone know when wave 3 will be released?

Not gonna lie, I really wish he featured red/blue paint for the goggles. Doesn't feel like 1 drop of each color would really cost much.

I am glad it is not a total repaint of the AoE version, though. The arms are a new mold, so you don't have that car panel overlapping the hands like before. I will miss the rubber pieces to simulated his "coat" in robot mode, but they also made car mode difficult to hold together.

Agreed. ALL the stores in my area have only a few of wave one. There are no voyagers or leaders, not even shelf holders for leaders. Not even Jada can be found in stores. You're right, the hype is down if not dead. I would like to get my hands on a leader Megatron though. I wonder what the sales numbers look like for TLK toy line. They don't seem to be selling vey well at all, at least in my area they aren't.

 

My understanding for Crosshairs is that he's a reshell (which the design lends itself to) to streamline car mode. Instead of one movie-accurate gun and two mini pistols/bombs, he comes with two of the movie-accurate gun. And he has both sides painted, rather than the inexplicable deco failure that kept me from buying in '14.
